He's literally the worst professor i have ever had, not even kidding. you will not learn anything. If youre thinking about broadcasting, think twice because he is the adviser and he's horrible at his job. He'll explain something in class then say something else the next week. He changes the syllabus a million times. Also condescending when grading

Comment:

This class is a must for anyone in the Media world. The way that Fordan teaches may be different, but it does ensure that the material is understood. I took this class over the 6 week summer program and still took away much more than i had anticipated. Highly recommend.

Comment:

Professor Fordan is a great instructor. He may be unclear at times, and talk in such a high pitched voice that you want to kick a puppy, but he really knows his stuff. Behind the scenes he will go above and beyond to make sure you know what you need to know. However, for 2 credits, we do about 8 of work. The stupid com dept. is to blame for that.

Honestly one of the worst, if not the worst, professor I have ever had. He answers questions with questions, skips over chapters completely only to have entire tests devoted to the material, and CLEARLY favors his broadcast students. We once had a test completely devoted to material he said wouldn't be on the test! He's HORRIBLE!

This professor is horrendous! He teaches only to the view of broadcast students, and the rest of us that are REQUIRED to take it get left in the dust, because he doesn't respect anything other than broadcast. He uses outdated concepts and he's way too flamboyant for lessons.

I was in the Com 289 class 9/17/08 writes of. It is an ORIENTATION course, so students AREN'T expected to know what they want to major in!!! and 9/17/08 says students are stupid for not knowing? I'm glad I took Fordan's advice, and I'm double glad 9/17/08 isn't in my classes. We won't miss 'em. Fordan rocks.

I was at the final exam 9/17/08 talks about. Several others didn't read the syllabus which had the correct exam time. So they were mad because they arrived 2 hours early for it! Don't blame Fordan

in his speech in our comm 289 class he told us that his major better cuz students dont know what they will be doing once they graduate.. if you're pissing your education away,thats your problem.. i once sat in a class during finals week & noticed a very heated exchange between him and his students, im avoiding him

After taking NewsWatch with this prof I have determined, along with many other classmates, that I will learn more in the real world than from him. He explains how to do things one way and then says to do it a different way. He keeps changing the way the class is graded and operates. You would think that he would know how to grade by now.

Fordan's a classic crazy prof. blurting out sentence fragments & changes subjects 24/7. Fordan is very helpful when asked, but he can't realize that it's the 2000's, not 1974 - the decade he teaches from. Fine for standard practices: not for application. Above needing to change decades - Fordan's great 4 a laugh and for guidance along the way.

Prof. Fordan means well, but the man just can't seem to get a point across - ever. The flailing arms and constant change of subjects during lectures leave us students just, well, uninterested. Then when something is on a test/quiz that has nothing to do with the class, that always rocks. Don't get me wrong, Fordan's cool, but wake up: it's 2005!

"Flippers" "Grasshoppers" This guy is so energetic and fun. His sense of humor is outstanding. I loved this guy. I struggled with his written tests, but excelled with his hands-on video camera work and editing projects. I even came back to CWU after graduating with my buddy Kevin and got to listen to his old rock band back from college. It was so funny!
