Comment:
Professor Green is a great person, he is a nice guy, and if you get to know him, I bet he'd be a phenomenal mentor. However, he is not a great teacher. I have friends in the other Art105 classes by other professors, and they do not do nearly as much as we do. We have had an extra 10 projects, all due within one week or less. It is ridiculous.

I have a chronic illness, and made him aware of this at the beginning of the semester. Despite my grades ending with a B, he docked my grade so much due to what should've been excused absences I ended up with a D. The feedback he gave was after the fact and critical, while in-class feedback was vague. He treated us all like art majors. Don't take.

This class is a lot of work, but you'll also learn a lot. He is incredibly knowledgable on 20th century art history. His lectures can drag, but take good notes and do the reading and you'll be alright.

He knows what he's talking about & will be very useful when it comes to critiquing your work. However, the level of expertise expected for a Painting 1 course (in which no one had previous experience) was too high. He also grades by lining paintings up from best to worst, so your grade is dependent on how good or bad the rest of the class does.

Professor Green is definitely intimidating. He really wants you to understand the material he is lecturing about. If you read the book, bring notes to class, take more notes in class, and STUDY, then you'll be fine. He really is a great professor, but he makes you work for the grade.

Green Bean can get it. Out of the 4 different teachers I had for various art history classes, Green's lectures interested me the most (He is very knowledgable and always prepared). 20th century isn't as bad as everyone says, but you MUST read and study. Don't be intimidated by him- he's very kind just a bit of a stickler for the rules.

Robert Green is hands-down literally the best professor I've ever had in my entire collage career. He's intimidating at first, but once you warm up to him, you can learn like mad. He's always helpful, and if you want to learn ANYTHING at all while you're in school, TAKE HIM.

He grades primarily on skills. I needed this class for my major and I'm not the best at drawing people. He always tried to make your drawing into what he wants. Said I didn't do well in the class because I worked too slow. I suggest not taking him.
