Easy and fun class. The professor is really kind and approachable. He was more than accommodating when I was sick for a week and a half. One of the few professors that will actually bother to learn your name and get to know you.

Dr. Fernandez is THE BEST professor by far in this program. He has a few close competitors but he surely blows them out of the league. He is the smartest man and works harder than any other professor. He takes his job and role seriously. IF YOU NEED HELP GO AND SEE HIM!! Do not cheat in his class, study, TRY, and go to his office hours.

He is the most amazing professor I have ever had. If you give him low ratings it is most likely because you don't really care to learn the material. The only downside to this class is if you speak spanish fluently it gets kind of boring. He is hilarious and my role model, to be honest.

He is the most amazing professor/teacher I have ever had. Knows so much, and is an amazing person. He truly cares about students, and is eager to help you in any way. Of you can take a class with him, DO IT!!! HE IS AMAZING!!

Professor Fernandez is great. He is extremely fair, and is very approachable. Our entire class felt comfortable and no question for him was too big or small. He genuinely prepared us for each exam, and went over and over the material until he felt we understood it. Excellent professor! Would happily take again!!

Hands down my favorite professor. He is a wonderful teacher, and he is relaxed and pretty lenient. If you have the opportunity to take him, do it. If you ever need help or are struggling, he's always available during office hours and willing to help. People often don't take advantage of that!

Probably my favorite professor at FSU. Proactive about class participation, calling on everyone equally as opposed to letting a few people dominate discussion. Is very laidback, which creates a chill class atmosphere, and is also very witty. Class I took does require a decent amount of effort to get an A, but I would HIGHLY recommend taking it/him!

Fernandez is an excellent professor. He will surprise you with his quick wit and vast/often random knowledge. Class participation is not optional but he makes it fun. The translation class is refreshingly challenging and 100% worth it.

Take him!! Very interesting and knows about a large range of subjects. He loves to incite conversation in the classroom but won't pressure you or make you uncomfortable. The class is an easy A+++ in which you actually learn a lot.

He's so funny and loves to talk about pretty much anything...nice guy! You don't really need to read before class, because he goes over everything! You don't need to study a lot because he's usually gone over it at least 10 times before the test!

He's a nice guy, but if you're a non-native speaker whose a little shaky with your listening skills watch out. He talks fast and very softly(and in the Spanish Dept. at FSU non-native spkrs are at a disadvantage to begin with). He grades easy though, it's not hard to get an A. He'll help you if you need it. Not great, but not terrible.

Of my six years of spanish, Dr. Fernandez is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He cares more about having the student learn rather than what he/she gets as a test grade. Definitely recommend this professor!
