Excellent professor. She is very kind and understanding. She is a tough grader but if you go to her for help it will pay off. I would recommend her class to anyone.

Comment:

Tough grader but she'll help you whenever needed. A lot of parter work (peer editing) Only about 5 essays all year, but she's a big believer on first draft/2nd draft. Tells you what to fix, but sometimes marks you wrong her her own corrections. Very nice woman, take her if you want to be challenged.

Ask her all the questions in the world, keep in touch with her all the time. Your grade will be better(C+ to B). If you don't do this... and your writing is not the best- do not expect a good grade(C or lower). She was frustrating for me at times.

Extremely kind lady, very very hard grader. Sometimes frustrating when you are not born a great writer. Criticizes everything she doesn't agree on when it is YOUR opinion and essay. Really boring class and no one wanted to be there. One of those classes where you look at your watch every 5 minutes. Took her 2 semesters..very fair teacher though!

prof sullivan is a nice lady. she is a very tough grader though; the first day of classes she said, and i quote "you are all average writers, so do not expect to get anything but an average grade in my class." our fate was predetermined. a "B-" was the highest grade on the first essay. i have never seen an "A" on any of the papers. do NOT take her!

Very nice and sweet lady. Essay topics are boring and shes a kid of a tough grader. Go to her office though and get help and she'll raise your grade a bit on a paper. She's a cool lady and understands how much students are going through. She'll accept late hw.

Great professor. She is harsh at grading and everything these people say is TRUE but she knows what she is doing. Many people in her class cannot write and she HAS TO BE HARSH to make them better writers. Her methods are insane but they DO WORK! If you are a writer and want to be better, take her, but if you don't care about writing stay away..

SAVE YOURSELF! do not take her! extremely hard grader. i mean she is such a nice lady but she is very much concerned about grammar. she rambles too much in class about the same things. coming to class was easy b/c we barely did anything but it was writing the papers that will make you suffer.

Oh my GOD, she is really bad! She is a harsh grader. She will correct your paper then you hand that paper in and she will correct HER corrections! AWFUL WASTE OF TIME! I was pullin my hair out the entire semester. The only thing she has going for her is that you can hand in papers late and she doesn't take points off. REALLY DONT TAKE HER

HORRIBLE! her way or the highway! corrects first drafts and when you do the corrections she says then she says they are wrong on the final paper. unless you write perfect then she will rip you apart. alot of thigs i wrote were correct and since she didnt like it she said it was wrong. dont take her. save yourself.

Took her in Spring 06. Unfortunately has a "my way or the highway" attitude. She'll correct your paper, and when you go back and hand in the corrected version, she'll correct your corrections and say she never said to do so. Not much room for opinion here.. if she doesn't agree, in her eyes its not correct. My suggestion.. look elsewhere.

OK. first and foremost, shes great dont get me wrong but she loses papers and emails, shes a horrible grader, her style of writing is completely different than anyone elses; Shes very critical when it comes to grammar and fragments but MY GOD was she forgetful. take her if your an excellent writer. def didnt enjoy taking this course.
