online class. Great organization and layout. Good commentary for each topic. He is a little bit of a tough grader, but is fair. Doesn't let you slack off. Make sure to back up your statements with facts and do a thorough job answering questions. Course work is dicussion posts, two book reviews, and two essay-style exams. Wish he taught more classes

Took the class Online, and I loved it! Great Prof. Very knowledgeable, fair, understanding. I really enjoyed this class, and got a solid A. Love the schedule. Post one week, responses next. 2 book reviews (your choice from a huge list), Midterm and final both take home essays. Highly recommend the class and teacher!

I am a senior in college and he is the best professor I have ever had! He is helpful and fair and the best part is he will review your essays and test essays before you submit them and tell you what to change so you can get a higher grade. Amazing teacher!

Took his Ren. class online.Responded to questions/comments in a fast manner, was very engaged.Was respectful, could be funny & was open for comments. I wish I'd been able to take the class when he wasn't fully retired & f/him in class. He's very pleasant, a bit difficult but very fair.

I took a Renaissance course from Schlesinger via DDP. I thoroughly enjoyed the material and appreciated his organization. He provided quick responses to emails. He is quick to grade exams and provides plenty of feedback. A little bit of a tough grader, but, overall, an excellent course. Highly recommended.

Despite being an online class, he distinguishes himself as a singular individual and instructor. One of the most brilliant people I have ever met! Fabulous sense of humor, gave great suggestions for other books to read, even video series. I wish I could take his class every term.

Best prof I have ever had hands down. Lectures are hillarious and really hold your attention the whole time. The essay tests are a great way to learn and are pretty easy if you took notes at all. Kickass guy.

I had a blast in this class, not only was he hillarious, but he kept me captivated the entire time. Outside of class he was willing to help me when it came to looking over essays, clarifying essay topics, and even writing me a reccomendation. I wish I could take this class again and again.

He was a pretty good teacher. Talks were interesting and amusing. No busy work, nothing based on memory (all 'tests', which are essays, are take home), and you really don't need to read the text. There were 3 exams (5 page), a short essay (4 page), and discussion questions at end of class. Dblspc

Easy class... but easy to blow off too. Sometimes assignment parameters are fuzzy.... tests are essay exams but not easy because they have VERY broad prompts.
