Comment:

Literally the easiest class I've ever taken. I took his COMM110 class as a summer minister just to get it over with and I'm pretty sure everyone in the class got on A. Barely an regulations on speeches, all the tests and quizzes were online, and the homework could barely even be called homework, more of survey on the material.

This class is horrible. He is extremely boring. He thinks he is the smartest person in the world. He acts like he is better than you and everyone else in his class. He makes you do a HORRIBLE group project with absolutely no time in class for it.

He was horrible. You do not know when his testquizzes will be. He tells us that most of us will fail his class. He expects you to be a professional speaker when you're giving your speeches. This class was more work than any other class I've had to take before, and that says a lot coming from a nursing major.

It is hard to call this man a teacher. He comes off very rude and almost condescending. He expects perfection each and every speech. This class requires a lot of work as well as meeting outside of class in groups. He expects each year that over 75% of his class will fail, and its true. I was one of 7 to pass in my class, started with 32.

Your group has the option of exluding you. If you are to be excluded you fail the class according to Mr. Howell. I wish no ill will on anyone, but I paid good money to be graded by a highly skilled intelligent professor and not other classmates attempting to learn a new subject. FYI I was not excluded from my group. Just the idea of it is ominous.

Did not teach the class and didn't give any notes. The tests are not easy at all. Doesn't tell you when there is a test or a quiz. He expects you to know everything and to be able to know what he's talking about. I do NOT recommend him to ANYONE.

very difficult class its apparent he loves to see people fail he discussed it in his class all the time. his syllabus is ridiculous to try and figure out his quizzes are hard he quizzes on stuff you learned a few weeks prior. i dropped the class because his assignments are unobtainable to get a good grade on

This is the worst professor I have ever had. He is a terrible teacher, he doesn't actually teach you anything other than to not rely on him for anything. He wont even tell you about assignments and when they are due. He expects you to do his job for him. He grades extremely hard and his quizzes require more studying than a test in my math class

Grades his students on his own expectations. Stuck up. mean. tried to be friendly with the man but its impossible. He has different expectations based on the color of his students, and unfortunately hes the head of the communication dpt.

Took this over the summer.. You have to work extremely hard to get an A in this class. My straight-A student friend got his first B ever in this class. If you do take this class, read the syllabus carefully for each speech and pay a lot of attention to details.

Ron is very, very, very nice he may come off wrong but his intentions are good. He wants every student to be successful. Once you get to know Ron he is very motivational and is willing to help you!!!!!! I love him

Prof. Howell is the most knowledgeable communication Prof. at ICC. I received A's on all my speeches except for one that I completely tanked. If you want to become a better communicator take this class!!! If you?re taking it only because you have to I would advise that you find a different Prof.

Don't take this teacher. If he doesn't like you, you are screwed and if he does like you, the you have to work your ass off to keep it that way. He grades very tough but that's not the reason to avoid him. He wrote the book you have to spend a ridiculous amount of money for and then his entire lecture is word for word verbatim out of his book. He has been teaching for a long time so in his mind, that makes him better than every one else. Over all, he is a horrible teacher. Avoid at all cost.

He's a horrid teacher. He doesn't teach you at all. He relies on your group leaders to tell you what you're supposed to be working on and if the don't understand then you're screwed. He makes sure that you know that is the department head and that you can't complain to any one about him. He'll only help you when he has time not when you have time.

Was not helpful and said at the begining of class the first day that he "not paid enough to teach only to guide" expected us to teach ourselves and take the money we spent for "guiding" which meant being in the class only to grade speeches (taught two lessons the whole semester)

Very smart man, interesting conversations but a absolutely horrid professor. Impossible to get over an 85 on any speech. Relies on blackboard but never mentions that he's posted a new assignment. Very cocky and will let you know that his time is more important that yours. FIND ANOTHER TEACHER!

He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is rude and doesn't answer questions and doesn't care about the class. He feels like he is smarter than everyone else, and he obviously shows is. He knows what he is talking about, but is not helpful at all. If you get a choice, don't take him.
