This class was SCARY for me. I was so unsure of my grade! Basically, your grade is the based on the Final you take. Two tests - midterm (13 of grade) + final (23 of grade).

This class consists of a midterm & final; both based on pure lecture & his lectures are very boring. Since your grade depends on only the midterm & final, you have to do good on both. He doesn't give a study guide for either or extra credit. I would not recommend him.

Comment:

Great professor. I really liked the fact that he uses examples to help define concepts. He does lecture the whole time, but taking good notes does not make you lose concentration. Midterm and final are 2/3 mostly on lecture and 1/3 on book. Taking him again for 430. :D

Attend class, take good notes, read the text and you will do fine. Midterm - 50 questions and 1/3 grade. Final - 100 questions and 2/3 the grade. Multiple choice! Most of it from lecture, some from text - you do have to read the text. Then the test questions make sense. Just schedule yourself - there aren't any papers or any other assignments!

Horrible class experience. His lectures were very boring, although he could be funny or try to be at times. His tests are very, I wouldn't say difficult but perhaps confusing. I probably missed two classes but none of what i studied was in the tests. I guess their based on whatever he wants to put in them! Very bad class. Don't recommend. AT ALL.

He is a good professor and cares about the topic. Our book "Urban World" was quite interesting. You just have to take your time and read it. He is clear about expectations. Two multiple choice tests - most of it from lectures. Most of the time it was really interesting. If you don't go to class you won't do well. Truly wasn't that difficult.

He is not a very good professor. His lecture are very boring. I tried to stay on track but couldn't help it. He gives a lot of examples, TOO MANY. His tests are based on the lectures. You dont need the book at all. I do not recommend this class. However, there were some people that did good. So, if youre a good listener, then take your chances.

Tons of reading and note taking but you learn a lot. The tests are hard but he does curve. He doesn't take attendance which can be very tempting. If you can't show up for final or mid-term do take the class. No homework, no papers

Yes he is quite boring I admit and really emphasizes his points by repeating it over..but paying attention will help you. He pratically assigns you the whole textbook which I didn't finish in the end...not too much tested on the last chapters of the book and A LOT from lecture. He is eager to help you though if you do go to office hours.

WORSE SOC PROFESSOR! This guy can't get more boring. His lectures are 80% of the exam, and the other 20% is from the reading but his lectures are so boring, you wont retain a THING! His tests are hard, he grades hard, and you need to find another professor!

Gosh, this guy is soooooooo boring. I HATED going to class every Day. LOOK FOR ANOTHER TEACHER. Lectures are Super long and you tend to just drift away and start thinking of other IMPORTANT things.
