He gives you to write essays and reaction pages about movies. He is very strict with what you write. Most of the movies he plays are boring. The only thing i learned is the movement of the camera during films.

Hes just like the Harlequin from one of the short stories we had to read. He is NEVER EVER on time when it comes to grading things. We had to read two books and lots of short stories, but it was nothing over the top. We had 2 papers, discussions every week and 4 writing homework in the whole semester. Overall hes a good prof. :)

Very good professor. Read one book, a few short stories, and the rest of the semester we watched films (which were very good). Two papers to write. The class was very good however, I did not like that he did not have an actual grading scale on his syllabus. This made it hard to calculate your grade. Otherwise, very good professor.

Course is interesting. I learned to view stories and even films in a different perspective. Grading is extremely fair! As long as you do well on the 2 existential papers he assigns you are good to go. Lots of movies are watched, but very good ones. I ended up with an A.

Best of the best. Cares about the students. Very interesting books. Students walk in late and are unprepared and dont do well and then they blame the teacher. He will always help you if you ask. Loved it.

Overall I liked the class. Its fairly easy if you just come to class and pay attention a A is not impossible.. However what I didnt like is that in the begining he talk real negative about Jesus like his a fairtale.. that REALLY annoyed me because he contridicted hiself about Him.. oh well Im not easily swade but it did annoy me.

Took this class online for summer B. For a humanities course I would DEFINITELY pick this class with this professor. Very helpful and the class is very easy. Less time to do things so the course load is very limited. He is GREAT! I recommend him to anyone looking for an easy, helpful professor.

He constantly ridiculed Christianity & Judaism. Didn't learn anything, except about random people and his life. Attendance was not mandatory and he canceled class often, but w/o prior notice, so don't make it ur only class of any particular day & find out u drove to school for no reason. No final, two papers, and about three homework aaisgnments.

Best English teacher ever. Keeps you awake. Tells the best stories (very funny) Gives you a new outlook on life. Only thing is he wants you to speak during class discussions.

professor Silverstein is an excellent professor. I took two classes with him and would take more if i can. Attendance is not mandatory. He cancels classes often which is nice. Does not go over a lot of material. Very good at explaining. Oh and not forget all the random videos he plays all the time( in a good way). I WOULD RECOMMEND TAKING HIM

Based on the previous ratings, I was excited to attend, but he hardly ever showed up to class. It was canceled numerous times, and he seemed a little bit disgruntled when he did show up. Overall, it's an easy course, but the class feels awkward.
