Comment:
Chiercici is super unclear about what she wants, but expects you to know what she wants. She looks for a specific view and if she doesn't get what she wants, you'll get poor grades. Better do well on your 2 papers bc thats 40% of your grade. There's a lot of group work which will either benefit or destroy you. Make sure you read her books!!

First day of class told us that there would be no stereotypes or broad generalizations allowed, but then went on to blame every problem that had occurred on the white, middle-class, American male. Spent 4 weeks talking about the Halloween FARI incident, which while interesting, did not contribute to the course at all.

As an Anth major, I had avoided taking her until I HAD to take a senior theory class. I soon found out why I avoided her classes. She is disorganized, extremely boring, and assigns random grades. She gave me a C for a final grade, when I actually had an A-. I showed her and she changed my grade. Luckily I was still on campus. DO NOT TAKE HER EVER!

rOSE MARIE cHIERICI IS AMAZING. IM IN LOVE WITH HER. SHE CAN BE FUNNY AND WITTY, AND KNOWS HER****. I WOULD ADVISE HER TO ANYBODY LOOKING TO TAKE AN ANTH 100 CLASS, OR FOR THAT MATTER ANY OTHER ANTH CLASSES, AS I HAVE HAD HER FOR OTHER COURSES AS WELL

The course material is interesting and an A is definitely acheivable but my grade was much lower because I had no motivation to show up to class. Chierici could be very unorganized and unclear with what she wanted from us. It wasn't a terrible class, but if given the chance, I wouldn't go back and take it again.

I LOVE DR. CHIERICI!!! Before her class, I was felt fairly so-so with Anthropology, now I'm really interested! For people who don't plan on coming, yes, my friend still pulled a B. There's basically no textbook, just 4 books (don't be horrified, its thinner than your old Nancy Drew) by actual anthropologists. I'm definitely keeping my books.

She's really knows about what she's talking about and has a lot of interesting stories. Some of the reading is hard to get through but others were really good. The papers aren't too bad but she does expect you to put effort into them. I would recommend this class.

Horrible teacher. This class is sooo boring and there is way to much reading. Many times you are supposed to read a few hundred pages in only a few days. Rediculously boring, long, and hard. Essays are unclear and graded hard. Do not take.

She is an incredible professor. I must say her class is one I always look forward to. Make sure you speak up in her class and do your homework. It's for your own benefit to read all of the assignments. Her papers are demanding so make sure you don't procrastinate! Overall, she is one of the reasons why Geneseo is such a great college.

Dr. Chierici is an incredible professor and role model. She expects a lot of her students, and that is how we learn. She's not for beginners, or for people who don't care about the subject matter.

Professors like Chierici are the reason I came to Geneseo. Sure there's a lot of reading and sometimes the guidelines for papers are a little vague but I liked that freedom. It's not about "know this, this, and this," she expects you to think and come to your own conclusions. Lots of reading, lots of class discussion, try a little you'll be ok.

Horrible professor! expects everyone to write like scholars and rips your paper apart if your grammar is not good even though it is. I received a C on a paper that was an A paper because I had to take it to the Dean in order to receive what I deserved. Stay away from her!

Chierici is a good professor. She often assigns a LOT of reading in a span of a few days (although a lot of people don't do the reading.. i do though). The class shouldn't be that bad as long as you take good notes that you can rely on for your essays/discussions. Overall, an interesting class but a couple dry readings.

Too easy. Felt like high school. Stuff I already knew. An easy "A", but don't really expect to learn too much. Material chosen was interesting though.

What a wonderful professor! She's so knowledgable. Her Africa and Caribbean course was more of a Haiti course, but it was still very interesting. Not a very tough grader, as long as you have a good thesis for the papers. No exams.

Took her for INTD and ANTH128. EXCELLENT Professor - definitely one of my favorites and really interesting. She does lose her focus with the syllabus at times but the material she teaches is worth it. Should be easy if you are a good writer
