Velazco's Spanish 102 is my favorite class I have taken at CMC. Although he is not always open to students with views opposing his, he creates a lively discussion and includes many videos in his class. The essays and articles were great preparation for the big paper in the end. Take this class if you're interested in spanish beyond the textbook!

Professor Velazco is awesome. He is a fun guy, and his class atmosphere is very relaxed. It's not a stressful class at all, but just make sure you contribute to the discussion. The work is VERY manageable. Take his class, you won't regret it!!!!

This guy is great! he is really helpful too. the class is pretty easy, but really helpful. you practice speaking and reading a good deal, and he makes it pretty fun because his standards arent too rigid. easy to talk to. you watch a lot of movies so class time flies by.

Unhelpful and has a draconian attendance policy. His class is easy, I got an A without showing up much BUT then he knocked off a grade point for every absence after 3... I only passed because the language assistant was my friend and pulled hard for me.

A very sweet and interesting guy, like everyone said. I definately reccomend Latin American Cinema to all. It fills the Foreign Lit GE and is great if you want to work on your practical speaking skills rather than reading a ton. I'm a film major with just minimal Spanish and I got a ton out of it.
