Comment:

One of my favorite classes ever! Baumeister is so intelligent. His speaking style is a little dull, but I left his class every single day feeling excited about what I had just learned. Only three easy tests and a paper, and the TA told us exactly what we needed to study for each tests. Write down what she says to study and you'll get an A.

had for honors social psych, great teacher - he wrote the textbook, so the lectures are the exact same as the textbook, but he is very clear, knows a lot, very casual. tests aren't that easy but they're fair - straight from the lectures/textbook. 3 tests and an essay make up the grade

i took him for honors social psych. he was extremely knowledgable and despite being monotone his lectures were pretty interesting. tests are pretty touch, half text/half lecture, but it's extremely cool to be taught by a guy with such prominence in the field of social psychology.

In brevity, Dr. Baumeister is an arrogant, narcissistic man who does not care about his students. I do NOT recommend taking him for ANYTHING!

extremely knowledgable, he actually WROTE our textbook. tests were hard, half lecture/half text but fair. cracks decent jokes, but make sure to take class at a time of day when you're generally awake because although he's interesting, hes a bit monotone. i would take his class again.

Overall, a wonderful professor! Reading the text and taking the tests was almost ridiculously easy. Although his lecture voice is rather monotone, he has a wonderful dry sense of humor and an engaging way of tying current events and popular culture in with the material to make it easier to understand.

He speaks in a very monotone manner, but I thought his class was very interesting. If you have already taken General Phych, this should be easy. If not, the terms can be difficult. Class covers A LOT of information!

I thought he was great. Warning to other non-psych students though: The psych students are convinced that Skinner is right, and they are rather unacquainted with anything else, and find it offensive when someone like Dr. Baumeister suggests critical thinking...they annoyed! He was great though.

A-hole. This guy is pretty self-centered. I saw him at a psych conference last fall and went over to say hi. I introduced myself and told him I went to FSU. His response? "Oh." And then he walked away.

Good teacher. Lots of extra info, but one of those classes worth the effort. It will make many psych courses MUCH easier in the long run. Pretty funny guy too.
