Comment:

By far one of my favorite classes at Brandeis. I am an Environmental Studies major and this class really taught me practical things. In order to succeed, you need to participate at least 1-2 times per class (25%). There are a lot of small assignments and papers but you can revise and resubmit. Highly recommend. I learned a lot & Sabine is amazing!

Comment:

Our class met 4 days a week, and most class had something due like an Aufsatz or some work in the Übungsbuch. Hearing her stories were always very interesting. Its not difficult to get an A as long as you take the time to study for the six quizzes and 2 tests, spend time grammar checking the 3 essays, and going to her office hours once in a while.

Comment:

Sabine was one of my favorite profs! She is so excited about the material that she jumps up and down. If you love fairytales, this is the class for you. Homework consists of reading short-stories and critics, and watching movies. 3 papers very toughly graded, however theres always a revision option. If you do the work, you can get an A.

She's the worst professor I've ever encountered though my years at Brandeis. Not only she is a hard reader, but an unfair one also. She is resentful and holds grudges for anything you do and anything you don't.

She is ok at teaching, However very hard grader and she is very bias. If you are in her good side you are guaranteed a good grande. If in the 2 first classes she does not like you, "drop the class!!" probably you will get a bad grade (B os less) and you will work hard.

A very normal person but she caters to the top five kids and leaves it up to the rest to decipher her seemingly incomprehensible textbook. She remains vague as to what she is going to test you on for both quizzes and exams. Overall, I do NOT recommend this professor and regret ever having taken it.

She was a horrible grader and did not explain her grades. She was mean and had grudges against student. Also she had her favorite students who she would always give A's to. She was overall a horrrible professor. This class was awful! She is very strict, gives too much work, and grades unnecessarily hard for a USEM. She is very intimidating.

Comment:

I took her fairytales class and it was great! She assigns such interesting books to read and I really enjoyed them all. She actively encourages people to participate in class and have a real discussion about the material, not just her talking all the time. She's also really funny and gives helpful feedback on papers.

She know how to teach, however go very fast and don't care if you understand. I am not telling you to do not take the class. But be prepare to work a lot because there a lot of work load. Most of the people get from C- to B.

She is not very nice. You have to put to much effort to pass the class, work a lot. However sabine don't care if you fail the class. If you think you are usually friend of the professor take it. If you don't go so much and talk to them, no recommended.

Comment:

Fair grader; had 10a and 30a with her. Great personality, makes sure to get to know students. Classes are difficult if you don't pick up your expected share of work and speaking time. If you keep up, do your work and ask her for help, she will respond, and you will be rewarded! Thanks to her I am fluent in German now after only two years.

Pretty good teacher, awful person. I have never encountered someone who is more excessively unreasonable. I'm in a class of 10 people, and she knows me less than the professors in my huge lecture classes do. She doesn't care about students other than their interest in German. She's unclear in her assignments and she never responds to e-mail.

Super nice, quite helpful, always willing to explain and spend extra time with students. She really cares about the students and makes the class a fun learning environment. Very enthusiastic professor. The only downside was the low quality of the textbook (Deutsch Heute).

She's of awesome help and awesome fun as well. I loved the way she managed to keep our class alive.. and her sudden bursts of German words to keep us quite was terribly funny ! She was always ready to receive late homeworks and always ready to help even beyond her office hours !

She has interesting lectures, assigns interesting books, though if you're looking for theoretical physics/philosophy take Berger's Phil of time and Space. She focuses more on emotional aspect of time. She is very nice and understanding, she trully cares.
