Comment:

The class is easy, show up and you will pass, however, be ready for some of the most boring and cancerous lectures of your college career. Sarah makes you purchase her $70 textbook that she wrote, which consists solely of homework worksheets she could post as a pdf online if she knew how to operate a computer. Should teach middle school not college

Comment:

Sarah is a very nice women who is clearly passionate about theatre. However the class is the most unorganized class I have ever taken. By the end of the semester she did not grade over 20 assignments. In lab we worked on a project for 6 weeks that never got graded. Your grade basically ends up being up to chance, what she feels like giving you.

Comment:

She is the sweetest woman and teacher. The class is disorganized, but it's an easy A and art credit. I commute and was not able to make the final due to weather - she told me not to worry about it and gave me 100%! She is very passionate about what she's talking about, even if most of the class isn't.

She means really well, and I love theater, but this class wasn't theater. Very sweet woman, and obviously is passionate about the subject. I would just not recommend this to anyone who is serious about the subject.

Overall this is a good class to take if you need an art credit. It is very laid back and not that demanding when it comes to work. She is very hard to hear and to listen to though so the lectures are almost pointless. She also never grades anything so that gets annoying as well. Easy A and GPA booster though!

THDA435 is painful to sit though. Obvious it's non-theater majors that have to be there. Sarah thinks theater is the most important thing in the world. She does not know how to use mycourses. You won't get any grades back for weeks or months. Can't understand a word she says. Doesn't teach anything relavent. I almost never went and got an A.

Easiest class ever, honestly did not even attend the lab and passed with an A+. I went in the beginning of the semester and every lecture is hilarious, but as time went on I got lazy and stopped going. Either way you're getting an A.

tbh one of the easiest classes I've taken. the questions are very tough and specific on quizzes, but most of them were take home anyways, so they weren't bad. also you have a chance to not take the final! all you have to do is usher a few plays. also it's very obvious that its a gen ed and no one wants to be there. everything seems forced but w/e

Going to lecture is painful/boring. You have to attend 2 shows and write a paper for each. Worksheets due every other week or so. TA's are in the theater dept and grade papers- they're super annoying and stuck up btw. This class is popular for a FPA credit, but I recommend finding something else. Tests are hard and irrelevant to what she "teachers"

This class is known for being fun and easy which is why it was so popular. However be careful its more than you think and has gotten progressively harder. The test and quizzes DO NOT match up with the study guide. So quizzes are especially frustrating because most of the questions have never been talked about. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

She's a little crazy, but she loves theater almost as much as her cat. Lectures can be confusing and her study guides don't match up to the quizzes. You have to attend two shows, which isn't a big deal, but her TA's (who are in the plays) grade the papers. If you write something bad about the play you will get a bad grade.

Marschner is a whack job but this is probably the easiest class you could take for a fine and performing arts credit. I've heard she's made the class harder each semester, which seems to be true, but it's still easy to get an A. I never went to class, ever, and still pulled off an A-.

This class is what you make it. Professor Marschner is a very nice and knowledgeable lady. If you don't want to learn and just get an easy A, then go ahead. However, I recommend getting something out of her class. She knows so much and it's fun to learn about new things. Never used the text book once. Good class overall.

Absolute joke. I did literally nothing the entire time and got a 100 in the class. She gives you "quizzes" but they are opinion questions. I should be mad since I paid $1600 for the Jterm course, but, with her, it was a GPA booster for sure.

horrible teacher. Half of her lectures are her playing her favorite songs. NOTHING she says in class or puts on the "study guides" is on tests. Tests are not factual. do not take this class.
