The absolute BEST! Out of all my professors this past fall semester, he was the one who kept me the most engaged and the most excited about Computer Science. Your grade really depends on the exams. He doesn't necessarily force you to read but it's helpful to have the textbook for reference when your notes come out kind of messy.

If I had had another prof. as my first CompSci instructor I may not have stuck with it, he is exceptional. 5 on difficulty because at the time I had no prior experience, and the tests were brutal, so as an instructor for intro level courses I imagine many are in the same boat. You WILL learn, you just have to put in the work.

If you have zero Knowledge of Programming, TAKE HIM. He teaches everything from the ground up and traces everything. He is extremely organized; lectures heavy. His ONLY downside is his grading criteria (check his website) is very uneven. Only 3 exams total, and if you don't get an A on any of them, expect to drop a grade, also no extra credit.

You will develop an appreciating and understanding of C (the grandfather of all languages). It doesn't matter how little you know, go to him and ask him for help. He gives HW that upon completion leaves you with and UNDERSTANDING OF THE TOPICS. You will never have professor that cares as much as he does for his students ever again so sorry for that

Data Structures is a fundamental course for computer science and he is the best to teach it, period. You will have to put in 100% but you will leave with a rich understanding of classic structures WHICH HELPS IN FUTURE CLASSES. It isn't impossible to get an A in the class, but you will have to practice and understand every homework assignment.

I went into this class to fulfill my prerequisite coding course as a mechanical engineering major and he changed my life. I never coded in high school or even knew what code WAS. He is the best professor that I have taken and now I am a forth year Computer Science major at CSUF specializing in Artificial Intelligence. This is a very hard class btw

Try writing pseudocode on the functions done in class in order to prep for tests. You will have to hand code 4 funcs min and then theres the rest of the exam. Prof is pretty considerate giving paper copies for long examples. Fair warning: save your pride and big questions for office hours; he will shut you down if you are slowing down the lecture.

I'm a senior at UCSD. If I hadn't taken his class, I'd have not been fine here. It is a challenging course, but you'll get a lot from it. Go to his office hour whenever there is even a tiny doubt about the course material. He knows how to make students understand the data structure.

Professor Edwards is one of the most enthusiastic professors at Fullerton College. Every class period is highly enjoyable, and his class structure makes the material easy to understand as you immediately apply it. If he's in the computer science lab, he is totally willing and ready to help you!

One of the best profs in the campus. Test, hw, and project are hard but reasonable. Study your notes, write codes, and practice practice practice. But seriously, practice.

Great class, a bit harder than previous coding classes I have taken. Graded on few things and code is written on paper (this is important). You will have to know the code, this was the downfall for many !! If not, good luck figuring out if it'll compile or not. Edwards is very passionate and ALWAYS helpful. Take the class serious and study!!

Indeed Professor Edwards is a good and passionate professor, but I personally do not like his teaching methods. You would think you're doing well in this class until you take his test, which is made to confuse you. I understood all of the material during lecture, but his tests? Not so much.

He is a very tough professor. Exams are really difficult unless you really know your stuff. HW is assigned every day, gives pop-quizzes and drops nothing. Getting a good grade is possible but requires lots of work and time. He's very passionate and helpful and is really nice. Just make sure to do all HW and study.

Like many have said before, he is a very good CS teacher. Class consists of daily homework assignments, two midterms, a project, and a final. Tests are difficult if you don't study and not studying means simply skimming your notes. You have to take good notes, practice writing code, and going to ask for help. P.S. You can skim section of the book

The hardest prof I've ever taken. His exams are tough, HW is hard and doesn't drop anything. But he is very inspiring, super helpful and is always willing to help with material. Even if it's not his students. You really have to know your stuff to pass so read, practice and ask plenty of questions.

Like everyone else says, Mr. Edwards is the best cs teacher ever. He is very helpful & prompt in answering any of doubts/questions. I learnt to use nano & emacs from this class. He also helped me install Arch on my computer. He genuinely cares about his students. Even though I was a C student, he helped me tremendously which I realized later.

I am not a computer science major, but I took this course because basic coding knowledge is highly recommended for my major. If you have little passion for coding or don't have the motivation to work, you will drown in this course. Tests were worth 70% of the course and by no means were they easy.

Never have I had someone with such enthusiasm, clarity, and organization be a teacher of mine. This was a class that I was walking into thinking it was going to be scary, but he helped me get over my fear of programming. In C++ nonetheless! Nothing but good things to say about him. I'm extremely grateful!.Tests are hard though! Practice x 3!

I'm now a UCI student but I took every class Edwards taught and let me tell you, he's one of the very best Comp. Sci. teachers you will find anywhere. Best teacher to give you a strong foundation if you're going into Comp. Sci. Extremely helpful but the classes are no picnic. Best teacher I've had in college yet.
