The best teacher I had at HPU. I travelled from Sweden to study at HPU and I had this prejudice about American being very ignorant of the world, especially when it comes to geography. My expectations were accurate but this guy tries to do something about it. The best HPU got, inspired me and pushes you to reach your full potential.

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS from this ASS-CLOWN! Totally unprofessional. Intentionally inflicts emotional distress on students. Inconsistent. Makes up the course as he goes along. Last minute assignments, takes forever to grade. Has control issues. Has power struggles with the Dean and tells the class about his feeling for the Dean.

This is one of the best teachers I've ever met. For one thing, he's interested in his own topic, he wants you to succeed, and he may challenge you in the best way possible. It is critical to read the book and go to class if you dream of passing. Time consuming but worth it. He just doesn't want a generation of dummies walking around.

Awesome teacher. Makes you learn and wants to help you. Normally I hate everything about school but this class is one i was glad to take. Its a good thing to know about the planet you live on and actually learn good info. Weekly Map quizzes and two major exams. Tough, but entirely worth it. Thanks Serge!

He was seriously an amazing teacher!! His course is difficult but you learn from it!! He doesn't give stupid busy work he gives you what you need to know! And as for the lectures, it's exactly what is on the test, you just have to listen!! And if you are going to bash him please know how to use apostrophes and spell, I'VE!! you failed for a reason

This class frustrated me when I took it. The workload is intense and probably in no way should pass for a GE course. That said, you'll walk away from the course having learned a fair amount. He's also has integrity/convictedness where others lack it, and I respect him for that. It's a tough A and you'll earn every bit of it- but he's good.

So far my favorite professor!! But i do feel that he is the kind of professor that you either love or hate. If you show some interest and try to do your best you can learn so much. He is very passionate about his subject and he really cares about his students. I went from being not that interested to really like geography!

Best professor at HPU hands down. doesnt hand over grades because he expects you to learn the material but once you do it is very rewarding. all his lectures are casual, humorous, and informative. people complain about quizzes but he hands over the exact quiz a week before you take it. Such an enjoyable class and person!

Worst teacher iv had so far. You can get over half right on a map test and still be in the negatives grades. because he grades unfairly also he has odd expectations on work quality, and wants your to make your entire life dedicated to his class. i suggest that you find another teacher, people often fail his class.

Not a very good teacher. He definitely knows a lot about geography, but not about other things. Expects his students to work hard but was always late in posting map quizzes and atudy guides. He tries to start class discussions but he's so weird that you don't feel like getting involved. He told me I was wrong about a few things when I was right.

He has a lot of knowledge about the course. At the beginning of the year, he makes the students write their name on a notecard and use them for taking attendance...whoever is on the top he'll ask questions about the reading assignments. Map quizzes is a must and 10 points each quiz. Sometimes he is very sarcastic to students but sometimes funny.
