Comment:

She tends to go very quickly through the content, but she does provide lots of practice questions. Her midterms and finals are fair, she allows you to have a double sided "cheat sheet" so use this to your advantage. Overall I found her to be very helpful in this tough class.

Comment:

Very nice instructor. Not the most helpful. Textbook needed as she covers material very fast in class and not in very much detail. Mid terms were easy. Her final was brutal. No one got over 80%. She told us an outline of what would be on the final, and it was not what she said. She throws some unintentional curveballs. Would try to avoid.

Harder lectures, she goes over material fast so you must come to class prepared. However, Midterms and exams are relatively short and easy.

Comment:

She's not that bad; her classes will seem confusing at first as she moves pretty quick. That said, she's always welcoming questions and will go over the material with you if you are finding it difficult - doesn't hurt to ask questions! Her midterms and finals are a reflection of the material and questions covered in class, so they're pretty easy.

Comment:

People always say that they can't catch up with her progress. However, her review stuffs are really similar to her exams. If you understand the review, you will understand exam. Either you pick a instructor with good lectures but hard exams, or a bit rush in lectures but easy exams.

She's incredibly difficult to follow because she races through the problems as if shes trying to prove something. She chooses to do examples in excel and expects you to do them on paper when the exam comes around. She's really open to answering questions in class but unfortunately no one has any because we can't keep up with her.

This teacher steamrolls through the material without mercy or clarification. Friendly but following her is next to impossible. Needs to SLOW DOWN AND CLARIFY.

Shari is an excellent instructor! Goes through many practice questions to really prepare you for the midterm/final. I found exam questions to be similar to textbook questions, so just practice lots and you will do fine. One of my favourite instructors at Camosun so far.

I strongly recommend NOT taking a class with this instructor. It's true she is available to ask questions, but if her lectures were more clear that wouldn't be necessary. Unclear, hard to follow, and speeds through powerpoints and excel functions as though it is common knowledge to students.

Shari was super helpful when I needed a little more instruction after lessons, as well for the weekly quizzes. Definitely recommend, one of the best teachers I've had.

Comment:

Shari loves statistics and I thought she taught the course well. It is true that she does go through things rather quickly, but she is always happy to answer any questions. Course moved at slow-med rate with lots of class-time put aside for assignment work. Probably the best instructor for the course.

We went through the powerpoints quite quickly, and then did questions. Yet we were behind in the material. Not sure if there is just to much to teach or another reason. Shari is helpful, but you will have to ask her for the help. Exams were fair and the two mid-terms must be reviewed before the final for maximum success. Would take again.

The lectures themselves are relatively useless; her teaching style consists of zipping through questions one after another, without much explanation. However, if you ask her questions outside of class, she's extremely helpful and is willing to go over any problems you may have. Good sense of fashion?

Shari is a very nice person but a completely incompetent instructor. Her solutions to problems are confusing and you barely have enough time to copy them, let alone comprehend them. When people stopped attending classes, their grades IMPROVED. Worst instructor I have ever had; avoid her at all costs

Just writes calculations on the board without clearly explaining the reason for them or where the numbers are coming from. We were really behind the original schedule and had to cut out a lot of material. Would NOT recommend.
