I honestly did not like this class because of the fact that the classroom is set up in a circle. And she can be be a hard grader. Participation is EVERYTHING! If you do not like to participate don't take this class with her.

If you're a creative writer and can write 6 pages on food than takes this class. If you can't than i would suggest taking a different teacher. She is very picky with her assignments and she checks for every grammar detail so know your grammar/punctuation etc.

Speak your opinion every class --it's discussion based. Your papers must be focused (no run-on sentences) and (no long-winded paragraphs). Application of writing concepts + your authentic voice are key to acing all the essays. The assigned readings are there for you to enhance your writing style. This is not a class to breeze through. Do the work.

No tests. She focus on food. This class is supposed to "prepare" the student for a research paper, but she is more into descriptive writing. You can tell she is a poet and not really into analytical writing. Participation really matters so make sure to talk in class. Some find her rude, but she is just special & respectful to those who respect her

Nameroff is a true stickler, if something is not done or answered to her very liking, then good luck. I participated in group discussions and completed 90% of my work (as well as completed midterms + final papers), but somehow ended up with a low grade. Nice person, but lectures are long, dull and repetitive.

She's a little rude to students if they aren't specific to what she wants. She's a passionate teacher, but going to her class was sort of a downer. Class subject is food and be prepared to write a lot because final assignment is a 10 pg research paper.

Many people give Nameroff bad credit. Get on her good side (participate in class, work on on papers, pretend to be interested instead of on electronics) and this class will be a breeze. English 1002 is all abut food so if you are good at descriptive writing you should do fine. English 3020 is a bit more tough, but definitely easy to handle.

The central theme in Nameroff's class is all about food. No classwork, just group discussions. Be prepared to talk a lot as that is part of your grade for the course. No midterm exams or quizzes. You write three essays, and she grades students based on progress throughout the class. She gives students a chance to rewrite essays for a better grade.

This class is all about food, which was pretty interesting, because I've never taken an english class like that before. You can't be afraid to voice your opinion and thoughts in class, because it is discussion based. No in-class final. No quizzes. Essays about food. It was simple.

I learned NOTHING from this class. She's a tough grader but she doesn't teach you English and she gets extremely upset if you slack off, use electronics, or don't participate in discussion. Do NOT take her.

She is an awful teacher. She assigns essays without fully explaining them. Her grading is unexpectedly harsh especially for a class that has almost no direction. The class isn't even about research writing like it's supposed to be. And in discussions she forces her opinions on you. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!

Easy teacher! I took her for English 1001, after failing with Bently (DON'T TAKE HIM) and 1002. The essays were based on FOOD. If you can't descriptively write about food then you need to drop out anyways. She is very helpful and writes notes on how to become a better writer on your essays. Utilize office hours and go to class! An A is attainable.

If you're just trying to get a good grade, take this class. All the writing assignments were fairly easy. I would usually just write them while I was at work and still managed to get a B+ w/o reading any of the books. As a professor, she is horrible. If you want to be on her good side, agree with everything she says.

She is without doubt, the single worst educator i have ever had. No teacher has ever been more boring with materials and work. Her discussions are for her to hear her own voice. She makes me want to drop out and keep working construction till the day i day. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE HER CLASS. education is valubale and she wastes mine.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES! She doesn't care that you want to learn. She is only there to tell you what she wants. Good luck achieving this. 16 books, multiple essays. It's a waste of money and time. Terrible, Terrible teacher!

Do not take her class!! I love writing but this lady wants you to write like your in second grade with "I believe, I think, I feel" you will learn nothing to actually help you grow as a writer or critical thinker which is what the class should teach. she is rude, abrasive and down right bad at teaching.

Fairly easy class; thought it was more creative writing than focused on practicing for the WST. One central theme-food. Three papers, all progressively longer. Each class you talk about the books, or watch documentaries and discuss about them.
