Comment:

You're graded on four tests that are super challenging even if you study. There are four tests worth 100 points, 3 papers worth 20 points, and 30 points by the psychology subject pool. Really need to study the material given each day or very unlikely to receive a good grade. She does make the class pretty interesting even if it is at 8 am.

She shows videos to help you further understand the material. Textbook is not needed. The tests are only based on the lectures. There are some papers but they're fairly simple and graded easily. She is very funny during her lectures and gives a lot of examples so everything will be easy to learn and memorize. Lectures are far from boring.

Comment:

She is absolutely amazing, so incredibly clear when it comes to grading and what will be present on the test. Her lectures are fun and very informative. If you go to class regularly you can totally pass the class without even reading the textbook. Everything on the test is based on lectures given in class.

Comment:

Sherry is the best psychology professor on campus. She is not only funny and makes the lectures easy to understand but she is also always there for her students. If you go to class and actually listen you don't even have to touch the textbook to pass with a C or better.

Absolutely amazing professor. She's hilarious and keeps her class interesting. Would most definitely encourage everyone to take at least one of her classes. She's super nice and absolutely willing to help anyone in need. Her office hours are great to go to.

I took Sherry for a 3 week summer class. It was a tough class but it was so much fun. There was a lot of reading, but she does not make you buy a textbook. Sherry is so funny and helpful. One of my favorite classes I have ever taken at CSULB.

Really enjoyed her class! Took her for an intense summer session. If it would of been any other teach I wouldn't of made it. She kept the whole class very entertained and made an awkward subject very relaxing to talk about. REALLY want to take more courses with her! Summer course had 2 exams and 1 paper plus participation points. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She's really funny and has a new york accent! She makes her lectures fun and relevant. 4 tests but she drops the lowest. If you don't go to class then you'll have to read the book. A couple of short papers that she lets you rewrite and are super straight forward. Do the test study guide and you'll be fine. Highly recommended!

Sherry is the best professor I have had!! She loves Psychology along with all of her students, especially freshmen. She makes her lectures very fun and interesting and I looked forward to this class every day. If you actually study the concept checks very well, her tests will be easy. She's such a great person and I would take the class again.

You do not need to show up to class to pass just read the textbook and you will be just fine. If you do not review the textbook it will be nearly impossible to pass. You get your lowest test score taken out and your grade is based on 3 midterms, final, 3 short papers (1 12 pages), and participating in two experiments

I love Sherry she's such an amazing professor. She gives a few papers, 4 exams but drops the lowest one and you have to participate in 2 experiments. The exams are easy IF YOU STUDY. She gives you a study guide and if you base it off that you will get a good grade. She's so funny and you will love the examples she gives to help with the concepts

I took Sherry Span for both my Psychology of Sexuality class and Abnormal Psych - love her to bits! I got a B in both classes mostly because I didn't study too hard (the regret is real) but she is a fantastic lecturer, friendly, loves her subject and wants to see you succeed. And personally, I thought she was quite attractive, Great Prof!

GREAT instructor. Passionate not only about the subject, but also with helping her students learn. I've never felt like she handled anything wrong. My only criticism is that she didnt stick to her schedule on the syllabus very well because she underestimated the amount of information per chapter. beyond that though, she's excellent. one of the best

Sherry Span is arguably one of the best professors I have had in the last 4 years. She has a true passion for psychology and teaches it as a science. Her sense of humor and intelligence will keep you coming to class. She is open to new ideas, criticism, and strives to learn with you. Its refreshing! Professor Span, or Sherry, as she likes to be called, is honestly a great professor. Pay attention, attend the lectures as she doesn't just recite the book. READ the book. Use the study guides. Simple class. 2 papers, 4 exams. There is a final. The only reason I got the grade I did was because I was lazy. TAKE SPAN, especially if you're a freshman.

LOVED this class! Sherry is an awesome teacher: great at explaining concepts and, even in a lecture hall with 150 students, you can tell she really wants each student to succeed and makes herself available for whatever help she can provide. I recommend this class 100%!
