I absolutely enjoyed this class! Her lectures were delivered clearly and she explains the content very well. However, there is a test on every chapter, every week. But, it's college! You have to work for your grade. Definitely loved this class content wise. I would definitely take her for other courses if she offers any!

Comment:

Dr. Smarook is a great professor. She would take her time to teach difficult topics, and she would help any student if they ask for help. You have to read and study the chapters in order to get a good grade. Participation and good attendance are also mandatory if you expect a good grade.

Horrible teaching style. She does expect students to learn but is of no help at all. There is no way to contact her either because she uses no email. She gives a test every single week and her notes suck. She reads straight off a paper and DOES NOT repeat herself.

I just took her final exam, and could not WAIT to come on here to rate her. She is my favorite professor by far. Her class is interesting, fun, and informative. She is wonderful. If you keep up with the readings, show up to class, and participate in class discussions, you'll be fine. I highly recommend her class. It was a great experience for me.

Dr. Smarook is definitely one of the best at NJCU. She is fair, demanding, entertaining and highly intelligent. The most valuable things I took away from her class, besides a comprehensive engaging PSYC course, were lessons in professionalism, expectations of higher education and the value of critical thinking. Her classes are a must!

Smarook is not for the laid back, lazy, shy, or sensitive student! She really knows her stuff and she does a good job at delivering. There's a lot of work to be done, requires time. You gain a lot from the course & its really helpful for other classes. I would take her for all my PSYC courses! She's a lot of fun if the class does their part.

If you are truly interested and sincere about psychology and graduate school, she is a must have. It seems as if people are scared of doing work and learning nowadays. She puts her all in and expects you to do the same. Taking her class makes you realize all of the wasted knowledge that is left unlearned throughout the years.

Professor Smarook is a very understanding professor. She expects alot from students, but it's because she knows we are capable of meeting the standards she sets. She has a great sense of humor and I also like tha fact that she keeps it real. She makes sure that her students get there monies worth when it comes to education. She is wonderful!!!

I took professor in Summer 1. The lady know her work but its a class where it requires all your time to read and note taking during class. Your hands with hurt. She usually do 10 exams and she keep you to the end of class time. In this class will feel extremely overwhelmed. She doesn't curve so be prepared to have alot of hours studying.

Smarook is not an easy professor and when I say easy I mean its not a bird course, you aren't going to fly through. She will make you work hard for your grade and make you think. HOWEVER she will help you to the best of her ability and you will actually learn something in her class! Isn't that a novel idea for once?!

If you expect to walk into ths class and not do anything and get an A, you are in the wrong place. You [HAVE] to read in order to get a good grade. This was my toughest class yet. There is a 20pg term paper,(begin it once she assigns it!!) She gives no breaks, notes are taken as she lectures. Be prepared to use your brain.

At 1st shes very sarcastic and seems really tough only bc we got used to receiving As in classes with no effort. I felt like I was in hs again bc that was the last time I worked as hard as I did in her class. But she knows what she's talkin about and shell make herself available to u. Great person! I learned a lot! She's now 1 of my favorites!

She MAKES you work so if you are not willing to work and read avoid her..and if you hate public speaking avoid her because she makes it mandatory...aside from that I don't think I've ever met such a funny professor who is as caring as her...you will learn if you take her! she's definitely not an easy A, but if you're up for the challenge take her.
