i completely and totally disagree about learning nothing about writing. stacey is incredibly willing to help and is extremely receptive. if you talk to her personally about improvements you could make, she gives great advice. i went in expecting a C and earned an A (but it wasn't EASY, this IS college and she's still pretty tough, after all).

definately the best teacher i've had at pitt so far. extremely helpful, and her class is always entertaining. tries to really engage students. you can tell she loves what she does. always gives very constructive criticism, no crap. i absolutely love her class, even though i usually hate writing. excellent teacher.

Stacey is by far, one of the best teachers here at Pitt. You are guaranteed to have a mind expanding experience if you take this course. I learned more in this course, than in all of my others combined. She chooses interesting reading materials. Stacey is funny, enthusiastic, and obviously enjoys teaching.

I hate writing, I suck at it ... but I really enjoyed her class. She's a great teacher who makes class fun, never a dull moment. I actually learned quite a bit in her class. If you put some effort into the class, you should be just fine. Oh, and make sure you speak up in her class, she likes that and it will help your grade.

stacey is spectacular. creative writing is the one class i look forward to (both doing the work and going to the actual class). she is funny, energetic, and really loves what she does. you will never be bored and staring at your watch in her class.
