The TA and the prof taught us very different methods. Potapenko went to teach double intergrals AND YOU DO NOT NEED THEM. Upper years haven't used half of the methods that he teaches. He skips steps (hope you're good at math if u go to lectures). If you tell him to speak up, he will get offended. He's not mean, but I wouldn't say he really cares

Fair and super kind. Go to his office hours if you're unhappy with a quiz mark, he'll give you a bunch of marks if he disagrees with the TA. If you read the textbook, his quizzes and tests become a joke.

His availability and office hours allow asking for help very convenient. He does an exceptional job helping students with questions after lecture hours. He takes his time and really cares about his students. Although, his lectures are just a bit above average. Overall, the man is a great sir!

The teacher is nice and always willing to help. He definitely knows about his subject. Makes a lot of mistakes on the blackboard because just copying his notes: stay focused and correct yourself. His written notes are terribl Take home mid-term. Open book final: he almost said what would be on the final: easy to prepare in advance. Everyone got 90+

Stan is great. He's funny and you can tell that he loves his calculus. He is also very willing to help outside of class, and will give you recommendations if you want to go further with the material.

Stan is a great guy and has lots of character. His lectures are almost straight from the textbook, and you'll need to ask if you need him to clarify anything. He gives good individual help if you ask for it, and is decent at explaining concepts, though he could use some work in that area.

Comment:

Funny, runs on tangents. He's Russian and has the best stories. Something off about him. OPEN BOOK QUIZZES WERE FROM THE TEXTBOOK. Check answers in the back. Lectures are useless, just read the textbook. I am amazed some people did poorly in the class, it was not hard at all. Tutorials are semi-usefull.

Comment:

Great guy, funny, tells great stories but he's horrible professor. He writes paragraphs for notes and its easy fall asleep in his classes. As long as you get the notes and have a textbook, going to class isn't necessary. But he also gives tons of hints for exam. This was his first time teaching this course, so he may be better at other courses.

Easy prof! Most examples in class were straight from text but if you do attend the class then his quizzes become a joke! but since our class avg was in 80s..the final exam was a SHOCK!
