Dr. Perz is a brilliant professor. Go to class, complete all the pop quizzes, turn in ALL the lab assignments regardless if you get bad grades on them. The final project significantly helps your grade because he offers extra credit. Do it. I got by solely off memorizing and doing assignments.

Study guides exams. He drops hints about exams/quizzes. Super helpful during office hours. Start your proposal early. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT PRESENTATION at the end of the semester. Even if you feel like you're not ready to present, just do it. Talk about your proposal topic and why you chose it. Whatever. Just do it. You'll regret it if you don't.

Perz is a great prof in the Sociology dept., I took his Environmental Sociology class and it IS diff from Env & Society. The mini-exams are a bit rough but all other criteria is straight forward and he always gives in-depth feedback on each assignment he grades. I would recommend him, he really knows his stuff and is very genuine!

This class was so much fun! Professor Perz is so funny and interesting, and the material isn't hard at all. He's a super easy grader on the papers and discussions, almost everyone got 100's on them. Review the notes the day before the quizzes and you should be fine! You don't have to go to class to get an A, but class is fun!

Definitely recommend his course! He is amazing and passionate for Methods. I thought this class would be hard, but it is not. Gives at least 20 points of extra credit, exams are literally the study guides. Only thing to worry about is the proposal, but he will help you with that. Wish he taught more classes! I had fun being a Methods ninja!

Must memorize about 50 scientific plant names and location for each practical but that is hardest part so start early and keep up. Lab is all about plants nothing else, fun trips into field to collect samples though. He is very quiet so sit toward chalkboard to hear short lectures. Nice guy but you have to teach yourself the material.

Perz is like a cartoon character in his demeanor. I hasd him for methods and enviro&society. He sticks completely to his ppts which are not posted online ever so you need to attend class to get the notes, which his tests are completely based off of. His tests are easy if you straight up memorize the study guide. I would def reccomend him!

The textbook isn't really needed, but you will need the course pack for the labs. He dos not post the lecture notes online so it's important to come to class. The exams are not simple, so you will need to put effort into studying. Overall, he is an awesome teacher who willing to work with you.

No need to buy the textbook, just the course pack. No surprises, he lets you know exactly what he wants. Enthusiastic, ridiculously knowledgeable, and gives you lots of assignments so if you do bad on one test, it doesn't kill you! Really helpful and over all nice guy. You do earn your grade though. No attendance taken, but you need ALL the notes.

I had him for both Env. of Soc. and Methods and he is awesome! He's such a nice guy and truly cares about what he's doing. He's probably one of the best Soc. prof's we have at UF. I received an A for both classes--which both were not too hard, but there is a lot of note taking. Overall, you will learn a lot and tests are way fair!!

Tests are hard... make sure you know your stuff. He's really nit picky. Go to lecture and you don't have to read the book. The proposal is intimidating, but he'll help you out a lot. It's not too difficult. Labs are easy as long as you do most of the work IN lab.

He's very nice and extremely helpful, but he doesn't play around either-- you earn your grade or you don't; he won't pass people who don't have the points just to be nice or anything. Extremely well-organized study guides that make studying for exams much easier, but beware because his questions are very specific and he's not the easiest grader.

You have to make sure you get the lecture notes bc tests are based on those. Notes are straightforward from powerpoint..your hand will hurt by the end of class bc its a lot of material and he goes really fast, but other than that...class is quite easy.

I got an A in class.Everything on tests is in class notes! There are 2essay exams, a midterm & a final. Final is take home so as long as u have ur notes u'll get A in that one. Only book you need is "Taking Sides" book he uses for class dscussions. Reaction papers aren't hard as long as you write YOUR own opinion & don't summarize.

Dr. Perz is pretty interesting and very fair in grading tests and papers. As long as you get ALL of the notes, you will get an A. The tests are written but, like what's been said, everything is off of the notes.

all lectures are on powerpoint. Tests are multiple choice, short answer, and essay. Nice guy and very helpful. Tests come DIRECTLY from notes, you don't need the book for this class.

he knows a lot--but he's too new to wean himself off the powerpoint slides. he'll be a great prof once he feels confident enough to not use it. admittedly, it is complicated material, but his enthusiasm is hidden in the notes, and more student participation would aid learning. do it!

Easy class, but kinda boring. I might have developed carpel tunnel syndrome due to the agressive note taking. It makes the class go by quicker, but you cant catch up on any sleep. Perz is a really nice guy and very understanding. Easy class, go for it.
