Just because some people did good in a physics 200 level class, doesn't mean it speaks for everyone. I took physics 100 with him and it was my worst. Avoid him for this course !! He makes it ridiculously tough. Mentioning I did well in highschool physics. Dont just say "I dont know what other people are saying", it's a different course! AVOID

Good prof. His lectures can be hard to follow if you didn't do the pre-reading, but he posts notes online so you can catch up later. Lots of homework, but do it all and you'll be well prepared for the midterms/final.

absolutely sick guy, he's funny and knows his stuff. Really good at making the physics interesting always bringing your attention to neat little concepts you might've overlooked. You'll be expected to read and do quite a bit of homework but you'll also learn a lot.

This guy is a real g. his lectures are surprisingly interesting with him inserting tidbits of physics history and things he actively researches. A great balance of reading and practice with his every-second-day reading, weekly quizzes, and weekly assignments. Great teacher.

I don't know about what other people have to say, but for me he's a great professor. His lectures are engaging, are easy to follow without wanting to fall asleep. He gives lots of homework but it's for the best because you become very knowledgeable about the subject. Do all the textbook problems because his exams are very close to them.

Comment:
very difficult considering this is a high school equivalent course... his exam questions are nothing like the textbook and he pulls out random questions you have never worked on before. As well, his TAs mark everything. theyre very mean giving back feedback on the exam, and arent helpful. I highly reccomend taking this class with anybody else.

He doesn't teach and just does examples during lecture, and seems to have a hard time putting concepts into words. He expects us to know the material before coming to class by reading the textbook and doesn't explain much. He's very smart, just bad at teaching. As aforementioned, this course should be much lighter considering it's a high school cla

Dodge's lectures are entirely based on answering iClicker questions taken from textbook examples. He doesn't teach and expects you to know everything despite this being a makeup high school physics class. He is obnoxious and very suspicious of students. Don't get involved with him.

Very restrict about everything in the lab, and he would ask too many questions so you would fail at some point. Focuses more on the theory than the experiment. Not very helpful if you need help with the lab.

Go into a Dodge course ready to work and you'll be fine. If you want a physics professor that knows his stuff and will reward you for your effort, his courses are for you. Nice guy when you get to know him. In a nutshell, taking a class with him is high risk (do you have the will-power) - high reward.

He is a highly trained researcher whom leads you to the answer of a question rather than telling students answers. For those of you who will be taking 355, I stongly encourage you to read more about fourier transform and pay attention to your finger prints when holding a glass water cup. *it's on the hw*

Deadly. He's used to teaching people at an advanced level and tends to trample students who are not highly adept at prerequisite math. Gives excessively difficult assignments.
