Higgins lectures can be a little slow, but he is good at using visuals to give non-chemistry majors a good grasp of the concept. Tests aren't too hard either. Good professor.

Dr. Higgins is an excellent professor. He makes the topics interesting and really wants you to ask questions. He responds to emails quickly as well. His tests are clear, and he tells you what to study. This was my first CHM class and I'm glad I took it. He really wants students to do well. My advice: do ALL the homework and ask questions!

Dr. Higgins is the reason I survived this semester. Having never taken Chemistry before, I really enjoyed his class. Tests are tough, but do all the homework and show up for class and get extra credit opportunities. You will truly learn basic Chemistry in this class.

dont take this professor for a 5 week course. He is very hard, and teaches the material way above beginner chem 101. If you have never had chem, he is very hard, and doesnt explain thing. He assumes you already know it.

This was the easiest A I have received at WSU. What a boring class, but entry chem is boring. This is a must take for a GE requirement. Truly, honestly spent a total of 5 hours outside of class on hwk and studying for the whole quarter and got an A. This really was a joke

This is such an easy class! You don't really have to read the book, but it will help to skim it. We had 8 homework assignments but you know what to do and when its do WAY ahead of time. Tests are easy if you do the review and take notes.

from what i undertand that class is difficult to begin with. but this professor did not make it any easier. he talked like a text book, and his tests were harder than he made them out to be. i always went in feeling super prepared because of what he told us to study, and once i got the test in front of me i realized i was wrong

I do not recommend this professor. He is by no means a "bad" one, but I do not like his teaching technique. He flies through his notes. It is hard to grasp the concepts because all your effort is spent trying to write down everything. His tests were doable, but you do have to study and do practice problems in the text.

He is a great professor. He appreciates your hard work, and never gives up on trying to explain stuff. Would recommend him if you want to know the basics of thermodynamics. However, I thought his grading was a "little" unfair. Otherwise, great person.

This is the first time Dr. Higgins has taught this course. Dr. Higgins is a fair professor. He is by nature an analytical chemist and he expects a good understanding of both the qualitative and quantative aspects of the material. I got an A in the class but it required extensive effort both in and out of the class. Do the suggested problems!

Subject can be boring, but Dr. Higgins provides demos that makes it more interesting. He is straight-forward in providing reviews for exams. If you attend class and do the homework the class is not too difficult.

Higgins is very nice but talks in a monotone voice so it's hard to pay attention during the hour and 15 min of class. The topics were so boring in my opinion and in the lab classes our experiments never turned out right. Way too much work for a gen ed class. Exams are pretty hard even if you study for hours! Just work hard and you should do ok.

worst professor/teacher i have ever had. He speaks in a monitone voice, doesnt speak clearly, and doesnt explain his discussion topics or notes well at all. the only reason i passed this class was because of the online quizes, and the lab.His exams are extremely hard and confusing i dont recommend this class to anyone!

The class it pretty simple and labs are not hard at all. His lectures are so boring and can not keep anyones attention. He means well but tends to go off subject for the entire lecture. He is very nice and as long as you pay attention and take notes it should be easy.
