Comment:
Boggs is a very clear lecture. he is not really enthusiastic about the topics he teaches, which make some lectures boring. Demos are good, and relate well to lecture. Tests are usually fair if you do homework and practice exams.

Great professor, clear and covers stuff well. In general he writes good tests, although for my semester the scores varied wildly. Office hours are helpful, but he sometimes spends too much time trying to prod students in the direction of the answer than actually explaining a problem.

Very clear at lectures, but very challenging exams. You learn a lot, but unless you're one of those geniuses out there, don't expect an easy grade. His office hours were extremely useful esp. when you're stuck with the homework. I attended every one of his MWF 8am class and learned a lot even though I didn't get the grade I was aiming/hoping for.

All in all a good prof. Clear lectures (when I went) and an odd yet interesting voice. First midterm was easy, second was impossible, and final was challenging. His tests are definitely harder than the other prof's, but the curve makes up for it and you learn more in the process. Just make sure you go to discussion

Wow, impossible midterms. Take another professor if at all possible. Most of the class has no idea what's going on and the averages are so low.

Wow. He is such an amazing teacher but yet his midterms will show you so little mercy. He teaches very well and does very interesting demonstrations in class, and among other things he is an excellent teacher. Just...remember that those midterms will cause you a bit of pain. But that's not something that should discourage you from taking his class.

Really cool, very interesting. He made physics seem easy and eventually, physics did become considerably easier after you understand what he taught. i took ap physics in high school but never understood understood it but after taking his class, i feel much more confident in physics

His class was not too tough after taking AP physics (C mechanics). His lectures were interesting and his demos are cool! Mastering Physics problems are good practice for exams, although exam questions are slightly harder than the Mast. Phys problems. Expect to work considerably harder if you haven't taken AP.

Derivations in lecture get tedious, lots of calculus, but that's physics. Mind-numbingly difficult exams, but the curve makes up for that in the end. Helpful in office hours. Odd voice, big goofy grin, but he's a pleasant fellow and I remember him fondly.

Very good professor. His explanations are clear and he always has aweswome demos to prove to you that what he's preaching is real. The exams are brutally hard (ie: tons of calculus), but that's 7A. So make good friends with the Portable TA and the real TAs.

Great professor - lecture was usually interesting and always helpful to understand the material. Boggs relies on his notes entirely though, which was a little annoying. Tests are really hard, but the curve is very fair.

Engaging, funny and clear lecturer.. I didn't find his voice boring at all. Great teacher but tests are very difficult... curve isn't bad but don't come in expecting an easy A (you'll have to work for it.. though maybe not quite as much if you've taken AP). Homework problems are difficult, go to GSIs' office hours. Elby's Portable TA helps greatly.

He admits that his voice gets monotonous sometimes, but in his defense, the demos are thought provoking and helpful. His notes are good, though sometimes not thorough enough to finish weekly HWs. Midterms/final were fair, curved generously but still challenging. Study hard and do your homework and you'll do well.

Definitely a difficult class, but a good grade is totally doable because of his curve. He has very clear lectures (should do the readings though, it helps a lot). I recommend Boggs for Physics.

He's an awesome prof with an awesome lecture style. His tests are hard (2nd midterm, an A was a score 69% and above) but he curves generously. Take this guy if you can!!

Very boring lectures, but that's physics. Does his best to make the material interesting. Some of the demos are cool. With the exception of the first midterm, tests are hard. The class is heavily curved so it is possible to do far less than stellar and still secure at least an A-. Do not take this class at 8 AM.

Great lecturer, very clear and neat. Tests range from straightforward to very difficult, but if you are comfortable with the math (multivariable calculus, differential equations) most of the material will make conceptual sense, even if some of the questions do not. A very good professor.
