Comment:

Although Dr. Farkas seems like a very kind person, this is absolutely one of the worst classes I have taken. Due to COVID we have been online(which to her benefit may be part of the problem)nonetheless it was always confusing, lacked proper guidelines and instructions, stupidly difficult, and not worth the time. Be ready to buy her $$$ textbook too

Dr. Farkas is a nice professor. The criteria for some assignments changed a lot which made things confusing at times but ultimately I had a good experience

Comment:

I had Dr. Farkas for ENG466. We worked on the Made in Millersville journal. It was a very valuable experience learning how to publish. Some of the class felt like busy work, in the beginning, but she is really kind and wants students to succeed. She likes to have students work in groups.

This class was not as hard as I anticipated. Most of the class grade (70%) comprises of writing four papers. There is a Semester Project where you choose a problem in your work, school, etc. You must prove that your topic is a problem and that a realistic solution can be implemented. Dr. Farkas provides superb feedback. I recommend the class.

Comment:

We were forced to buy a super expansive textbook which rarely used throughout the whole semester. She gave everyone the same feedback in our semester projects. It always took her at least one week to grade us and 3 days to reply the email. If you want to get effective feedbacks and help from the professor frequently. DO NOT take her online course.

I really love her teaching style. I am learning a lot that will help me when I apply for jobs and I'm so grateful. She always answers my questions and in and out of class. It's a lot of work but it is all useful.

Comment:

TONS of issues with her. Lets start with the fact that youre forced to buy a $90 textbook that she wrote herself just to barely use it & access code mandatory so you cant buy it used. Then, you must write several assignments about how helpful her book was. Her grading criteria is so vague, and the amount of homework is unreasonable. Avoid her.

She is very kind and sweet. Considering it was just a freshman seminar class, I didn't find it to be very demanding at all. It was a very easy grade, but it often felt as if class time was just being wasted in there. She was a very easy grader and never gave me below an A on any of our writing assignments.

Dr. Farkas is so sweet! She truly cares about each one of her students in their personal lives and academically. Be prepared to write a 2 page, single spaced response to prompts each week. A lot of people complained about these, but it helped me be able to write longer pieces! Easy A if you show up (she deducts points after 2 absences).

The class itself is really boring. I felt that my time was being wasted a lot. She's nice but not a good teacher. She also is a very strict grader when it comes to her papers to the point where it's annoying.

She really helped me outside of class. She understood exactly what I was having trouble with and helped me fix it. She also taught things I can use later on. Would definitely take her again.

Dr. Farkas is a sweetheart, but the class was just so unnecessary. A lot of it felt like filler material and I didn't feel like I gained anything from the class. She's very understanding about late work, but don't abuse the privilege.

Dr. Farkas is a wonderful person, but she isn't a very good teacher. She was very vague with most assignments and criteria, to the point that many of us had no idea what we were doing. She is project heavy and expects you to do some form of community service or other types of community participation. Frankly, I don't feel like I've learned anything

I have had her in person and online, strongly recommend her. She is organized, once you get the hang of the layout it makes sense. Fair grader with heavy focus on peer review, make sure you do all the little stuff on time or lose points unnecessarily. Hardest part of class is remembering all the little stuff!
