Amazing teacher! He is super nice, funny guy, and he does a wonderful job breaking down the steps on how to do the problems. The only catch is he gives a TON of homework.

I actually enjoyed Professor Jenkins. He expects you to work for your grade. He brakes down step by step which help me understand math a lot more. He may be a tough grader but he helps explaining the problem. Assign lots of homework but good practice at the end.

Horrible. He doesnt really prepare you for the equations that you will be facing in "math lab" nor does he really prepare you for the tests. He likes to reaaalllyy focus on just one aspect of a chapter such as prime factors and will lecture on it for two hours, leaving his students to figure and teach themselves the harder equations on homework

He does expect his students to follow directions and to apply details. I just started his class and I can already tell you that his teaching approach made it easy for me to grasp after 20 years of not being exposed to mathematics. There is a lot of homework but to everyone that gave him a mark down for being "difficult," THIS IS COLLEGE!

I have had Jenkin's for both 520 and 510 fast track math, he is a great teacher. His lectures are very clear. He gives you time to ask questions before moving forward. He comes in early to class and stays after if you need one on one help with homework. All of his homework is online so you know your grade as you go through the class. He is great.

He is hard in some ways but I had no problem with lectures. He explains problem very detailed and requires you to show all your work no skipping anything. On word problems he expected to write complete one sentence and the units. He was great just pay a lot of attention and ask as many question. I passed it with an A. I enjoyed his class.

Worst teacher I had at Chaffey, he's horrible and boring. He skips the details and is very rude. He sounds sarcastic and will make you doubt yourself into thinking you aren't able to pass math. Don't take him, you'll regret it!

Comment:

Boring style of teaching. Doesn't give any breaks in between, and his voice is very mundane. Doesn't know how to captivate an audiences attention. If the class is 8am-9 and lab is from 9-10. The professor should stop at 9 and not go on forever because students get frustrated and can't absorb so many information in 3 hours with no breaks in between.

If you tell him that you are having a problem he just recommends that you retake your previous math class. He teaches as though everyone is an aspiring mathematician. He uses web assign for homework so he doesn't have to grade the ridiculous amount of homework he assigns. I recommend that you avoid him at all costs.

Expect at least 30 hours in and out of class. Any questions and he has stayed after class to assist me clearly with everything. Gives a study guide which outlines the tests perfectly. I have a 94 going into the final and I'm lazy. Just do you work and show up. If you can't handle this and want an easier class, take a full semester.

Mr Jenkins is a great math teacher. He is thorough and wants you to really understand how math works. He gives excessive homework but it will only benefit you in the long run. I took his class for math 510 and passed with a C. Now I'm in math 520 and I have 97% only because Mr Jenkins established a great foundation. I hated math & now I love it!

worst professor at chaffey I have EVER had!!!! I am a student who gets As and Bs... I barley passed his class. He is rude Gives over 100 problems for homework Test are tough and over 50 questions If you take him you will regret it Ended up testing out of math 510 & into college level math because I was so motivated to not take him for 520

Extremely Horrible class!! i wish i didn't take this class at all. i love learning & going to class but Jenkins makes sure you hate his class & your life. Every night you have over 400 questions and plus another 400 for lab & all of this only adds up to only 7% of your grade. which is mind blowing!! DONT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE A LIFE!!!!

Not only does he assign at least 5 hours of HW but you are also required to do and extra 5 hours of interactmath online every day. He gives you about 400+ questions of HW a day and it's only worth 7% of your grade. Tests are worth 86% of your grade and interactmath and notes another 7%. He will not reopen a HW assignment on mymathlab if it is late.

Horrible class! Smart man but his teaching style is not great at all!! Coming to class was a waste of 3hrs! The homework that was assigned and expected to be completed was unrealistic. There were 500+ problems every week. There's no way you can retain the info and take your times to try and solve every problem. Even if he's behind, you still test!

Goes too in depth into one problem to the point where you don't finish a section from the chapter yet you still have to take an exam on it. At least 5 hours of hw a night especially in fast track. Makes easy problems seem more difficult than what they really are. Would not take again. I don't recommend taking this class

Comment:

Intelligent, kind, and thorough. Problem is his grading system and his excessive homework assignments. Homework is all on webassign, which is terrible and it will take you about 7 to 9 hours daily despite your math abilities. Do not take him if you have other classes or a job. One of his fast track classes is basically like having a 4 classes.
