(Her name is Eliason now). I took this class as a way to earn prereqs for my music degree. She was very helpful to the students who did not know anything about music, and I enjoyed that. Though it was an easy class for me, she did make learning easy for those who needed help.

She is a horrible teacher. Don't take her classes because your life will be miserable. She gives you an healthy amount of work musically, and expects you to use all your free time in a practice room singing. She has unrealistic ideals. Nearly everyone who has taken her has ended up crying within the first two weeks. She uses the worst scare tactics

Energetic and wildly passionate about music! She loves her performance classes and shows such joy every day. She is an artist, and very animated. Be on time, and participate. Fraser wants to bring out students' passion for music, and does so beautifully.

Comment:

I went into Music Fundamentals not knowing anything. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but she broke it down for me and the class step by step. Very interesting, lots of extra credit (shows, musicals, etc.) and very willing to help those who attend the class. Do NOT miss one of her classes or you will easily fall behind.

Expect to be ON TIME and have no more than 3 absences. Fraser is energetic and takes the time to work with students who are struggling-literally, in class. Expect to be called out and be taught if you cannot sing your part. Fun class that keeps you on your toes! :)

One of the most enthusiastic and fun teachers I have ever had. You can tell she loves what she does and throws every ounce of her being into forming the best groups she can with what she has. I highly recommend any class from her. She is very willing to help outside of class. There are times when she gets a little intimidating, but its part of her!

I've taken one of her choir and fundies classes. She knows her stuff and expects a lot from you - but not unreasonable. She is a great teacher and has one of the most important qualities in a teacher; willingness to take time out and help. Deffinitely recommend her!

I have taken 3 different classes from Fraser and loved them all. I started with fundies which was easy for me but she took the time to help those who needed it, and also made students aware of her office hours for additional help. Her choir classes are the best, she teaches where you cannot make the same mistake again.

Amazing choir director! One of the best!!!! Makes you work hard and try to be better! She's tough on you yet make you feel good about yourself too! Choir becomes your family and she's just an amazing choir mom! She makes everyone want to do better and helps us learn!

Her head is in the clouds most of the time and really should tone down on the caffeine(loud, rude and obnoxious). She goes through the chapter crazy fast and often doesn't care to relate/know her students.I recommend taking this class if you're a morning person. Be aware, she's nuts. I am less enthused about music now.

I have taken her concert choir class twice, its a pass or fail class and quite easy. Show up most of the time and sing and she is happy. She is pretty clear on what she wants and maybe does play favorites but has not been rude to anyone as fas as I have seen. She does what the class is for and she teaches you how to perform in a choir.

Hardest class I've ever taken. School usually comes naturally to me but I had to work especially hard in this class. If you ignore her as a person and focus on the information it could be the best class you've taken. Stick with it to the end and don't let her get to you and this class could be amazing.

I was not impressed at all by this professor. We only had class 3 days per week and the entire quarter she only showed up for one full week. she was not helpful, and speeds through topics. she basically used our class to recruit people for choir. she times the homework which is stressful and over all doesn't seem to care about the students.

T is a lot of fun if she likes you. Work with her. Don't try and be cool by keeping your own style in a choir. Conform to its way of singing and keep your solo voice for solo performances. Try and do what she suggests and you'll have a bomb time. Smile and keep a good attitude. Nothing more embarrassing than being kicked out 2nd quarter.
