She is invested in her subject, but she doesnt understand that students have other classes. I learned a lot, but it was not worth it because the amount of work and harsh grading. She likes art of certain way, and she is not very open to new ideas that do not fit her style.

Very particular about what she likes. i thought that this class would be a breeze and an easy a and i was so very wrong. don't think that by taking photography that its gonna be easy. you are going to have to put in hours and hours in the darkroom and shooting. dont take this class if you have other big time commitment class.

Comment:

Bright is an incredible professor. Some say she's too tough because she doesn't sugarcoat her opinion on your work, but she will help you grow and give great advice. It is no easy thing to make an A in her class, but if you ask for and follow her advice, apply yourself in and out of the darkroom, and commit yourself to your work it will pay off.

I was really excited about photography and left this class discouraged and defeated. She does not appreciate hardwork and grades you not on improvement but against the rest of the class. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS PASS FAIL. Good grades are rare. She needs to work on friendliness and compassion. Lacks a lot of empathy and care for others

Professor Bright is a brilliant woman. She is very knowledgable about photography and it is evident in everything she does. She is always willing to help and she is very patient with every question asked. She genuinely cares about the growth of her students. She is a tough grader, but it is only to help improve your work. Highly recommend.

She is very technical about art and expects everything to be a certain way (is very very set about this). This can be very frustrating if you like to do things differently than she wants you to. She is a very tough grader on print quality. She can be nice and helpful at times, but incredibly unhelpful at others.

Dr. Bright is great! She's excellent at giving constructive criticism - finding the good in everyone's work as well as helping them achieve their potential. Fun class. If you're just taking Photo for fun, though, I recommend pass/fail - otherwise, you can easily stress yourself out.

Prof Bright is really good, and she really knows her stuff. I learned a lot in her Drawing I class. She does appreciate talent, but she likes it if you put a lot of work into a drawing.

A tough class to take during winter term. She really knows her stuff and pushes you to make all of your work your best. I was glad I could take the class pass/fail, and if you're not an art major, I recommend you do the same. It makes the class much less stressful!

Learned ALOT about drawing, BUT grades surprisingly hard. Does not interact with students well. Is not as encouraging as I would of liked. Appreciates TALENT, not hard work.
