Comment:
Professor Santos was one of my favorites. It's serious business in her classes and she often deals with hard to digest information. She leads her courses with a very centered and spohisticated approach yet with well placed comic relief. For students that want to learn I felt like she was extremely easy to approach outside of the classroom.

Took grad class with her...she's awful. Talks too much about herself, has many annoying quirks. She is not up front about her grading process and she plays favorites. I think she recycles a lot of her class material too. Worst ENG class I took at HSU.

Wow. This class is amazingly hard. She gives out assignments on things not covered in class and expects everyone to know exactly what to do. Homework is not reflected on tests, its all completley different formatting and not even close to the same area of questioning. You better be on on your A game to get even a C in this class.

I've had Terry Santos for History of the English Language and Structure of American English. She's much better in "Structure," which is a really remarkable class. Not only did I learn grammar, but I practiced it รข€" so I can't help but think in terms of grammar now. Her class is very well-organized and grammar is made interesting. I recommend 328.

Brilliant professor, pay attentin to every word--you might miss something. If you don't ask, you won't learn--and she might not tell you if she doesn't know you don't know. Yeah, she's brilliant. If you let yourself be intimidated, drop the class immediately.

Wow. This woman is a genius. I suppose it would be hard for a genius to understand why asking a person of normal intellegence to memorise a paragraph in a foreign language is hard when that genius memorises books in different languages in their free time for fun.

I hated this class, the content wasn't bad, the teaching, however, was horrible. Terry didn't seem to care about her students and put herself on a pedestal. She is very smart, knows her stuff, but is an awful teacher.

She is a very, very difficult professor. She will likely be your most difficult class ever. I think I liked her--it's hard to tell. I did learn a lot, though. Be pepared to take tests above the level you think the class is being taught!

Terry is *incredibly* well-versed in her field but I would contend a poor teacher, at least of grammar. Her tests are incredibly difficult, a fact compounded by the basic level of class instruction coupled w/an advanced level of testing. Avoid if possible
