Dr. Hester is the best teacher I've ever had. He taught me more than literature. He taught me to think critically. He taught me to ask the right questions in life. I hold him in the highest regard.

Comment:

Although Dr. Hester is a good guy he is a terrible teacher. He get's off topic a lot. It took the class 3 months to get through 4 works of literature. It's 10 days until the end of the semester and we just had our first exam. He expects us to finish enough works for another test.

Very fun class, and he is very intelligent. He knows his subject matter well. Go to class and listen to what he says, and you'll be just fine. Almost everything on the tests he goes over strongly in class. He does have the tendency to go off on tangents (all the time), but I think it makes class fun.

i took a class with him in undergrad years ago and still remember clearly how awesome he was. i hated ren lit before him and he made me love it. his letter of rec got me into a great grad school. his published research is still among my fave materials for reference in my work today, 10 years later.

Hester is pretty much the best professor I've ever had. He is the stereotype of the crazy English professor, and is one of the funniest people I've ever met. His class is hard if you don't want to work for your grade, but if you put in the effort (and have some writing talent) you can escape with a good grade.

I was so burnt out by the time I had Hester, I was dreading any class I had to take. I know it doesn't take a wonderful professor to make Shakespeare interesting, but Hester did more than that. I'd say he's brilliant.

If you attend class and are half-way conscious, you will get a decent grade in this class. Hester is entertaining, and fair. His TA's are also very helpful. Tests are hard, but they're not far off from his lectures.

Very very funny guy. If I remember correctly, he was a huge Kentucky basketball fan. He is difficult, gives a ton of handouts, but he is a terrific teacher--and very fair.
