She is unyielding and will insult every student in incessant emails. The most ridiculous part? She sued Webster, fired her attorney and decided to represent herself, and then had her case thrown out because she refused to turn anything in on time. She's taking her failure out on her students.

So here's the deal with Dr. McCarthy. She is among the most educated faculty in the University--if not the most brilliant--and she knows the material, but is not going to shove it down your throat. You WILL learn because she will make you want to learn. Prepare to leave class inspired.

No adherence to text or even relevant classroom discussion. Tries hard to present "unconventional & whimsical" as her method but just drowns in what is actually disorganization and poor teaching ability. Passive aggressive grading, and a pushover when confronted about it. Most of the time I was just embarrassed for her. Learned absolutely nothing.

Worst teacher I have had at webster. She has absolutely no direction and is totally unorganized. she is knowledgeable, however she is not a teacher. she did not stick to the syllabus at all and all the work was saved for the last 2 weeks of a 16 week class! i learned nothing; she just talked about random**** all the time! + no idea what is on exam

While I will admit that her classes are baring to some people who would rather not share, and that may or may not be a negative, she is a rare professor who isn't afraid to be personal and provide at least the chance for her students to engage in class topics with reflective experience. I remember her more than other proffs many years later.

I don't think I learned anything in this class. She just came in and talked about whatever she felt were problems in the world. We had no idea what was going to be on the midterm because there was no direction, nor did she follow the syllabus at all. She is also very judgmental and will bring students' personal issues out in class.

interesting but she was too much into students personal biz.She required a small book to read & reflect on your own life,which was beneficial but also very private she required a paper & presentation.Presentation requirement was inapprpriate, some students left in tears & others disclosed info that was too private.Was follow up counseling provided

I'm suprised at the other ratings but she is very intelligent. However, she was probably one of the most obnoxous people I've ever met. Needlessly confrontational. Many students seemed to want her approval... totally embarrassing!

Tracey is an incredible prof. She has a very unique teaching style and is very engaging. She encourages class discussion and is incredibly helpful outside of class. She's one of the best psych professors here.

Very good teacher. She is really interested in the topics she teaches, unlike many other teachers. She is very one-sided politically and tends to force her beliefs on the students. Tests and finals are very easy.
