Dr. Paliwal was a wonderful teacher to have! He was clear with instructions and showed a great amount of respect to everyone in the class. Would take again if I had the chance!

paliwal is a bro, tests and quizzes are very representative of homework and lectures. material isn't super hard either and he cracks jokes so it's entertaining. 10% of the grade is participation and attendance so an easy chunk of grade and an easier grading scale. all around great and would recommend

Knows his stuff however the quizzes and exams are very hard and long. He expects to have so much memorized which is ridiculous. If you can't teach yourself or memorize random stuff, then this class is not for you. Not a good professor

Quizzes and tests have same information from the week you learned. Do not take if there is very little study hours during the week. Lectures require participation often times three times slower than by yourself.

trys hard to be entertaining, but more cheesy than anything, which is still ok.

Comment:
Lectures seem simple enough and there are some practice problems provided. The quiz and test examples are sometimes very similar to the ones on homework practice. The quizzes and tests have uneven weight distribution so if you miss three multiple choice questions you are often at a BC on that quiz/exam.

Paliwal deserves more credit. Doesn't make the class easy but is eager to teach and wants his students to learn. very helpful in office hours. Doesn't curve exams but exams are typically easier then expected. Very good in lab, grades lab reports pretty easy.

Dr. Paliwal is an energetic teacher with alot of passion for chemistry. He really emphasizes class participation, but it's not required. I will most definitely try to take another class taught by him in the future.

Paliwal gives you all the tools to learn the material. His slides are good. His tests and quizzes are directly from slides, similar problems if not identical. People who complain about tests did not put in the work to get a good grade. He tells you exactly what you need to know for the test. Study his slides, do hw, ask questions, you'll be good.

Organic Chemistry is a lecture heavy course. There's no way around it. Dr. Paliwal does a great job at incorporating different physical models and analogies to try and make the course easier to understand. Lab reports are easy and great grade boosters. Gives you all the information you need for tests in the powerpoints, so don't rent the book.

He is definitely a professor who cares about his students, I got a horrible grade on my first quiz in his class and after going to office hours with him going over that quiz I went the rest of the quarter getting A's on his exams/quizzes. Tough subject but he does a great job of teaching it!

Awesome professor. I have him right now for organic chemistry and his lectures make the topic fascinating. Makes me want to pursue a career in chemistry. He truly loves this subject and that shines through in his classes. The class is tough and requires lots of work but is manageable. Labs are fairly easy with minimal effort.

His class was was challenging but if you attend all of the lectures and do the optional homework assignments, it becomes a lot easier. Anything you don't understand he is always willing to help as long as you show that you are a hardworking student that is interested in getting a good grade. His lab section was also rather easy, not a tough grader.

As much as this guy may be passionate about organic chemistry, he is awful in every sort of way. Reads from powerpoints for lecture, messes up simple examples, then puts stuff on the exams that are barely touched on in class. I wouldn't have taken him if Lee wasn't the only other section offered. Don't get the textbook either, he doesn't use it.

He is horrible, I wish the classes were offered by another porfessor. He doesn't teach just reads off of the powerpoint!!! he skims through information and then test with questions that are expecting you know everything
