Comment:

To all the whiners, welcome to university mathematics buddy. ("Math is a language that must be spoken fluently or it makes no sense. This is the land of equal opportunity, not equal achievement OR effort!" -Heierman) This is the most memorable teacher I ever had. I still use his techniques and currently tutor calculus 2. Take advantage people!

Comment:

If you take any of his classes Mr. Heierman will do an excellent job preparing you for future math and science classes. While Calculus II is not easy, as long as you are willing to put in the work to understand the concepts you will do fine. I highly recommend Heierman as an instructor if you are interested in learning, not just passing.

You do not need the textbook in his class at all. Practice exams are like the tests and yes he may come off as being rude when you ask a question but he's just trying to get you to understand the problem. If you're not good in math and don't learn to easily don't take him.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I am really strong in math and am currently taking this class right now and he makes things so hard to understand and talks WAY TOO FAST. He is very rude and if you ask questions, he basically makes you feel stupid if you do not know the answer. If possible, DO NOT TAKE HIM.

NO TEXTBOOK. He Deserves more credit than he gets on here. He's tough, but he honestly makes Calculus exams MUCH easier than they could be. Took Cal 1&2 and got a B and an A. Calculus is HARD, a lot of the time he will talk over your head. ASK QUESTIONS. He may seem like he's talking down to you, but he's really showing you it's not that bad.

i would NOT reccomend this professor to someone who is not very good at math.It was very hard for me to keep up and i actually ended up dropping the class. If you get math he's good for u but if u dnt then i wouldnt take him. HARDEST CLASS ive ever taken.

Best math professor ever! This guy is hard on you because we've all been allowed to be lazy mathmaticans...pay attention, stay focused, and you'll get it! His wit is and candor is off the chart, and usually flies over everyone's heads because this guy eats and breaths math...

He was a very difficult teacher. Spoke fast. Extremely rude. I received a 98 on my test, had all the answers correct. Spoke with him on why I received a 98 and he said It was because I had boxed my answers instead of circled. Absurd!!

Great teacher! Yes, he might be confusing;however, if you pay attention and go to tutorials you should most likely get an A. You do have to put some effort into his class. Complete every assignment, it counts!

Speaks really fast. My class is too intimidated to ask many questions. He's really smart, but he does 2 problems at most of one type of problem before moving on the the next. He is in his office a lot, but my visits are not that helpful. Not recommended to LD students, but will better with those with true interest in the subject.

I took him for Algebra, Pre-Cal, and Trig. The man is a math nazi, and weirdly enough that's a high compliment. Yes, his attention to detail is maddening, but when you leave his classes you can do any math thrown at you because he actually teaches foundation and not to a single problem. His office hours are liberal and he helps anyone who cares.

Heierman is THE best teacher I have ever had, in Math courses or otherwise. Yes, he's difficult, but only because he's trying to get you to understand the material. He dedicates so much time outside of class to help struggling students, to keep them from failing. Also, the man is a genius who's discovered proofs no one has before. He's awesome.

He had never taught stastics before.It was too hard to understand him b/c he talked fast.He was very rude.We started out w/40 and end w/20.If there are no other teachers to take and u have to take the class w/ him, go to the library and copy his notes and test they will help u throught the class. I made a B but i recomend not to take him.

Great teacher! He does a reat job of explaining the basics of how to solve problems and is very clear and easy to follow. His tests are easy, he lets you choose which questions to answer for credit.
