She's pretty strict and can come across as harsh, but if you talk to her outside of class she's very helpful! The material is difficulty to understand if you're new to linguistics (like how I was). But just do all the homeworks and study study STUDY for the exams! She's a pretty difficult grader.

very interesting class. fulfills H, O, and W focuses. this class is best taken if you are familiar with linguistics and any type of Polynesian language. debates are not as bad as they seem. final 10 pg paper + presentation is not that bad (lots of work!). GO TO CLASS. this class is A LOT of work! Yuko is very structured, but willing to help!
