Honestly one of the nicest professors you will ever meet. Very minimal work and she's a very easy grader, but you still learn a lot about indigenous culture. She's very sweet and genuinely cares about her students' wellbeing. Take her if you can.

Lectures are clear, and she focuses mostly on broad topics. Allows notes on written tests which are definitions that were easy to explain if you did the reading. Reading is not even as heavy as other ethnic studies classes. Very understanding and fun.

Don't listen to these old reviews of her. Straightforward, easy class, but you learn a lot! She's a very helpful professor who just wants you walk away with a more realistic understanding of modern Native Americans, not the outdated stereotypes we tend to see in the media. Frequent readings, two 5-page essays, midterm, final.

Worst Professor in the NAS Department!!! Sitting through lecture was torture, especially because of her extreme bias. Does not answer students' questions in class. Grades ridiculously hard! DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES!!!

The most biased class I've had in five years at UC Davis. Reminds me of high school when you write what the teacher wants to hear to receive a good grade. Intro classes are supposed to be fun and interesting for the purpose of attracting students to the major. I have never received below a C on a paper in my life until this class. Good luck NAS

pretty biased but easy class. assigns lots of reading but i never read except the books for the essays. just know the study guide for the midterm and study guide. attendance is mandatory. every point for the class equals a percentage. pretty boring though, so make sure you're into the subject and agree with the ideas of prof and TAs.

This was such an annoying class. One point=one percent. 2 essays worth 15% each, midterm is 25, final is 30, participation 10. It was easy enough to get an A, but dear god was it painful to sit through that woman talking. If you want a biased class with little information, this is for you.

She varies up the material with videos and inviting guest speakers. Just be sure to go to class (and don't fall asleep) and do the readings (fair amount and easy reading). She gives a study guide for the midterm and final. Overall, quite an interesting and eye-opening course. I definitely learned a lot.

This is an easy class. Easy reading. Easy essays. Just show up to all the classes. You don't even have to do all the reading because she gives you a study guide, so just look things up after you have the list. She gives attendance quizzes, so go to class. It's interesting, and you have many guest lectures and videos. I enjoyed it.

She is a pretty good teacher. Lectures were somewhat boring, though. Interesting material, but it wasn't really presented in the most interesting way it could have been. Tests weren't too bad. Just gotta study and do the readings.
