Comment:

Not the best professor in the geology department. He did not explain things very well and there were no lecture slides online to use to study. Test were eh- hit or miss material wise. Attendance for lab, which is working from a workbook, counts for 25% of your grade. If you show up and do all your labs, 25% of your grade is an A.

This guy is very boring and it is difficult to stay awake in lectures. Attendance in lectures is not mandatory. You are allowed to miss 2 labs and he grades only on attendance, so its an automatic A for 25% of the grade. He is not very helpful in lab and won't explain things. The tests are somewhat hard and require a bit of studying.

Weather & Environment - Smart, funny guy. Lectures are thorough, and he's more than willing to help individually. Tests are a little hard, but not too much if you study for like half an hour. I feel bad for him sometimes because everyone in this class is taking it for an easy GE, and thus he has to cater to the dumbest that New Paltz has to offer.

Good professor! Labs make up about 25% of the grade, and you're allowed to miss two and still get an A in lab. Tests can be tricky, but if you study the notes, they're not too bad. He does usually curve the tests, too. Homeworks and readings are given weekly, and he only collects a few questions every so often, but they're easy!

Experienced professor with interest in subject and students. Avoid if GLG major since class has several inept/immature elementary ed majors who need an easy science class. NOT A GUT COURSE, you need to do a little work unlike Ed department classes. Dr. K is very kind, approachable and will help you if you show genuine interest.

Avoid at all cost. Unfortunately with an Earth Science Concentration this is impossible. I've had him for two semesters in a row - first for Weather & Environment and now for Natural Resources and Energy. He is monotone and completely drains any interest I have in the subject matter. His tests are extremely hard and he's an unfair grader. Stay away

alot of kids fail the tests and still end up with Bs because you get an automic 100 if you go to lab and thats 25% of the grade. hes a good teacher but the wording on the tests can be somewhat confusing. if you have to take a GE, take this one. As arent easy to come by but a B is there for the taking. he tries to be funny which is nice for alecture

Maybe he smoked it up a little too much back in the day. He sometimes gets lost in his thoughts but overall his class wasn't bad. I enjoyed it and as long as you do the work and put some effort into it you can pull off an "A" with no problem.

Ohh god. Such a drip. Well-intentioned but dull. Approachable but verbose. Class=snoooze. Often difficult to understand, esp for non-science people. Important to keep up with HW & labs & class notes, b/c tests are tricky.
