I have never met a legend before, so standing in the presence of someone who can shoot 15/15 from the three point line truly changed my life. He is a wonderful professor who's really passionate about both geology and basketball, which gets you passionate about them, too. He helped me improve my basketball game immensely. I praise God for him daily.

What can I say, the man can go 15/15 from the three point line. And he can teach.

Great professor. He definitely doesn't teach an easy course but if you go to him and ask him questions frequently you should do well. He wants everyone to do well but also has very high expectations for his students and is willing to help them get there. Also he plays a mean game of hoops.

took this class on a whim not having much interest in the subject matter, but boy am i glad i did! he helped me see my full poential and even put me on his IM basketball team. though i was disappointed when i sprained my ankle and was unable to play in our championship game he stepped up and went 15/15 from the 3 point line.

overall good, class can feel dry sometimes especially when it is just him writing on the whiteboard. but he is always able to keep things fun with small jokes here and there. i swear he threw 15/15 empty dry erase makers into the trash can by the end of the semester

one of the few faculty members who can seamlessly transition from the whiteboard to the basketball court. one day he wore a white dress shirt and i swear he had a pistons jersey underneath. i once heard someone say he made 15/15 3 pointers in an IM game.

he believed in me when i couldn't even believe in myself, i was feeling like i was not contributing to the success of our IM basketball team. but he got me out funk and i was soon shooting threes almost as good as he was. i think he went 15/15 in one game.

This dude. Played against him in IM basketball playoffs. I wasn't keeping track, but I swear he went like 15/15 behind the 3 point line. Ball handling skills easily an 11/10. Definitely didn't expect to get dunked by my prof., but live and learn. In the process of pulling some strings to get on his team next season. Also knows a lot about geology.

I have learned a lot from this man both in the field of geology as well as on the court. He have taught me how to respect the game as well as through an elbow without the ref seeing. He must have a math background because he is able to quickly calculate the angle needed for sick 3 pointers I swear he was 15/15 in our IM game

This dude is dope. Not only is he an exceptional educator, but he is also a phenomenal athlete. I had Dr. Peterson on my intramural basketball team, and this guy would not miss. I think he was 15/15 from the 3 point line in one of our games. I also did a summer of research with him and learned a lot of awesome stuff. 10/10 would recommend.

Not the most enjoyable class. If you don't want to learn about the planet and rocks, don't take this class. Tests are tough. Put in the time studying and it's still hard to get an A on the exams. Only a few exams, so your grade is dependent upon them! Be prepared for lots of powerpoints.

Dr. Peterson is very passionate and educated about Geology. We had a textbook, but he only made us read the things that we actually needed to know for the class, so there was no busy work. As a non-major I loved his class and learned so much. Definitely had to study a ton, but it was worth it! He also tells funny stories.

He is an awful professor. If you expect for him to teach you, think again. I learned almost everything in lab with a different prof. He assumes that we know all this stuff and hands out outlines that are barely explained. He spends a lot of time looking at pictures and asking us how we would describe it in geology terms that he has never taught us.

Wonderful teacher! The class is set up for you to succeed, you just have to be willing to put in the work. Studying is a must for the doing well on the test. You spend a lot of time looking at pictures, which can get boring. I'd highly recommend him for students looking for an easier GEMS course.

Great guy and really into geology, which is great, but as a non-geology major...DO NOT TAKE PLANET EARTH. It was a lot more in depth than expected for a GEMS class.

I was taking this class for a gen.ed and it's not a good idea. He's a really nice guy and i liked him a lot as a person, but I'm definitely a non-science major and if that's you, I would get out of planet earth a-sap. I thought it was really hard and the tests are basically impossible.

Kind of has a lot of mood swings, but is generally nice and happy and helpful. Able to explain things in words and pictures equally well. Probably won't ever call on you in lecture if you aren't in his lab.
