She's very friendly, but very hard grader. Lots of writing assignments, but her notes showed me stuff about my writing that I thought I was doing right. I got alot out of this class with compared to my other English classes. I reccomend her.

Lots of Writing!! It is a lot of writing but its not to difficult. Assignments are short. 3 pages most of time. If you need extra help she is available through email or person. I saw a great improvement in my writing thanks to her.

Ms. Felicia is an awesome professor! Highly recommend her to anyone taking English 101 or 102, especially freshman. You will have to hold up your end of the bargain, but she is as helpful and fair. Very nice and approachable

Ms. Felicia is one of the nicest teachers. She is always willing to help you and will extend deadlines if the class needs it. Yes, there is a lot of reading and threaded discussions, but she uses the threaded discussion questions on the exams which allows for an easy grade.

Comment:

I thought she was a great teacher. She is very caring and compassionate. She explains everything really well, and she doesn't mind going over things again and again for people. You have to do a lot of assignments like threaded discussions and wikis, but they ended up being helpful for understanding Song of Myself.

Short answer? Don't take her. She seems like she wants to teach/help you at the start of the semester, then turns into an unorganized mess. Her classes are insufficient in information needed for her tests. Her midterm and final are mainly just essays, and her homework which is 1-2 essays per week is graded like you're a senior English major. Avoid!

You only go to class once a week and you don't get credit for in class assignments. She is not clear on assignments and is always late grading your work. She is really hard on exactly what she wants like we are English experts. I advise you not to take her class!!! Find another teacher!

She spent half of each class (we only met once a week) telling us how she's behind in grading. she kept changing grading policies, and on the day of the final, she kept changing her mind as to how she was going to grade our finals, which made it really confusing as to how to finish the final. The work load isn't too bad, but she makes it horrible with how she grades threaded discussions - overly picky, she seems to be looking for a graduate level response for the online discussions.

Had her for the first part of American Lit and it was pointless. On the last day of class, she announced she was changing how she grades. Spends over half the class talking about how she's behind (last day and still dont have up-to-date grades) and about how she wishes she had time to teach us stuff. A TON of writing and threaded discussions.

Mrs. Butt was extremely hard. She isn't very clear and if you don't understand something, she has trouble explaining it to you. I think she is a good teacher, she just needs to be teaching much more advanced English classes. I think it's impossible to get an A in this class.

Mrs. Felicia is a no nonsense instructor. She is hard but she is fair. The most important thing that I have discovered while attending her class is that she cares. I know that when I complete her class, I will be a better writer. Ask her and she will help. Follow directions and you will excel in her class. In the end you will appreciate her.

Very tough teacher, but I recommend her. I had Ms. Butt for EH 101 and I made an A. It was a lot of hard work and a ton of writing. However, now that I am in 102 with another professor I find it to be very easy and I currently have an A. Thank you Ms. Butt for properly preparing me for 102.

I had Mrs. Butt my first semester at South for 101(Spring 09)and I made an A. I was attentive in class, did my homework, and asked questions when I did not understand. Each and every time I e-mailed her with a question, she e-mailed me promptly back with the answer. I refused to take 102 from anyone else, and I am currently enrolled in her class.

I hate her class! Forget a good grade, she grades harshly, gives tons of homework/reading and expects you to learn on your own. She constantly ridicules the whole class on homework and regularly explains that she will fail her students. She is unfair and very negative with her teaching rules and very disorganized which results in chaos.

If you want to cry yourself to sleep at night, then this is the class for you. But for the rest of us, stay clear of this teacher, way TOO difficult for an EH 101 class. First paper our class did, everyone failed. . .
