Possibly one of the worst profs at Bard. I can't say that she is unclear or unorganized, but she is extremely uninteresting and often completely wrong. She has really narrow minded and, in some cases, has quite outdated thoughts. Taking her class, I felt embarrassed, offended, and ultimately completely out off by the subject matter. Amy Ansell made me not want to be a sociology major. It’s funny that she specializes in race and ethnicity because this is where she seems to have most trouble.

Amy Ansell is a goddess. After taking Culture Wars with her, I reconsidered my concentration, and now plan on moderating into sociology. Her expertise is beyond incredible, and I love that she teaches material that she wrote. She's incredibly easy to talk to, a college freshman's dream.

Amy explains things clearly, gives interesting readings, and encourages discussion. The class I took was reading, tests, and no papers. I like her, but this isn't best style of class for me. All the same, interesting, and I recommend her highly.
