Staruck grades based on the midterm and final only. He is not very clear on either but if you take notes in lectures, read textbook and buy the study guide you'll be fine. He always lets class out early and ties concepts to stories so they are easier to remember.

Comment:

Amazing professor. He always uses his real life examples and even told us what topics will and will not be on the midterm. He told us to do the case briefs and questions for extra credit for our final grade. One of my favorite classes I have ever taken, even though it was an 8:30 class. You should definitely take Professor Staruck.

So his class consists of a midterm and final. All that youre graded on, 50/50. His lectures are very short, always let out class early. I had to drop his class because of some misunderstanding about the midterm time. Tried to talk to him ab it, he was very rude ab it. Super lazy. NO EXTRA CREDIT. Use him as a last resort.

He's ok. If you're the type of person that doesn't like doing homework and just want exams, then he's your man. Grades just on 2 exams, and he grades strictly ABC (no A- or B+ or whatever). Doesn't give out any study guides or prep for the exams. You're expected to take notes for the lectures. The tests were a little tough, but most law exams are.

One midterm and one final. Tests are multiple choice and true false 75 questions. Come to class and take notes. The book isn't necessary unless you want to do the cases for extra credit. Recommend buying the study guide for the book because questions are very similar. Overall I loved hearing about the real life cases he dealt with!

Staruck was the best prof I had at DePaul! Super sarcastic, super funny. His class is all lectures that he writes on the board, and if you take good notes, the multiple choice tests will be easy. He doesn't force you to come to class, but all that he grades on are the midterm and final, sooo probably go. BUT HE ALWAYS LETS YOU OUT EARLY!

The class is lecture based, and you're only graded on a midterm and final, each being 50 T/F and 25 multiple choice questions. Staruck himself is hilarious, tells great stories and is good at using real-world examples to explain concepts. Plus, class always got out early! Definitely buy the book, take notes and do case studies for extra credit.

Staruck did a great job using real-life examples in his lectures, which helps you remember things for tests. You are only graded on the midterm and final, which is all T/F and M.C. It is almost impossible to prepare yourself for the tests without buying a study guide (you can find on Amazon for $10). He goes fast and always ends lecture early.

Lecture based. No materials are given including study guides for midterm/final. Only graded on midterm/final. No attendance or participant points . Lecture are pretty interesting. Very open on what is on the midterm/final. It's a 50 question T/F with 12 multiple choice. Homework is not graded. Reading from the book. But it is an easy class to pass.

Lets you out early every class if it's a night class. Lectures the whole time of the material that will be on the midterm and final(the only two things you are graded on). His lectures point out what parts of the book you need to know and says it in a way you can remember it. Tests are multiple choice/ t/f which can be hard with law technicalities

His lectures were pretty interesting, but always cut his classes short. This was great, but I ended up not being prepared for the midterm or final. These tests were both difficult if you don't buy an additional study guide to help you prepare. The tests were all multiple choice, and I think there was a curve. His grading scale isn't very clear tbh

He was a nice enough guy and presented the material well but there was just something about him I didn't like. As a teacher he's ok and I'd recommend getting the book and additional study guide to get an A. He doesn't give his own study guide so it was hard to know what would be tested.

Comment:

Keeps class funny and entertaining through his examples. Straight to the point, no fluff. Class ended early every time since he was able to cover all the material in an hour. Focuses on what you need to know for the midterm and final, which are 50% each. Easy extra credit assignment and he curves the tests. Definitely take him!

Professor Staruck is BY FAR the BEST teacher Ive ever had. He managed to keep a class of tired sleepy students laughing and interested in the material at 8:30am. He is very passionate about law and speaks about his experience as a lawyer. Tells cool stories and tells you exactly what you need to know for exams. Great guy, great class!

He is a nice enough guy but no direction is given when it comes to testing. You are only graded by a midterm and final which is great but studying for them is the challenge. He covers a lot of topics but it doesn't really prepare you for the tests.
