Comment:
If you don't do the readings, you won't know what's going on. He doesn't teach the book, so you need to teach yourself. In class, he goes on major tangents and would rather talk system theory than explain why something works in a particular way. However, he's very accessible and wants to work with students. Go to his office hours, visit the TA.

Expectations for his classes are very clear and grading is fair. Before exams, he will give you a list of every question that he may ask (there aren't any surprises). 20% or more of his class is graded on participation and/or online quizzes that you can retake. Problem sets are pretty fun. My bad grade in the class was entirely my own fault.

Professor Moledina is a professor that is very uncommon and most people find eccentric both in behavior and teaching style. A class with him means lots of hard work, sweat, and tears but you learn so much more than any other class you will take. He's always willing to talk over and explain the material either after class or during office hours.

Comment:
Moledina is a great professor, if you have him for class you will definatly learn the material. His in class lectures are funny and he genuinely cares, if you stop in his office hours he answers any questions. Problem sets, and exams are possibly the hardest exams I have ever taken. AP Econ in high school helped a ton, would have failed without it.

If I did not take AP Econ in high school, I would have failed this class. The textbook might be free, but it is horribly written with lots of typos. He goes into extreme detail with his lectures, even though the class does not understand the basic concepts. We had 5 research papers and 4 tests.

This course is not a typical macroeconomics course. If you have interest in learning macroeconomics, do not take his course. Wait till the next semester when he is not teaching it. There is no reason why you should take his courses.

His classes are challenging and requires a big time commitment, but of course that is to be expected for a class that is so rewarding. Tough grader on assignments, but very clear lectures and fair exams. He will help you with any Qs outside class. His classes are fun and you learn so much just from being present and hearing his anecdotes.

Problem sets are hard & need lots of time to work on. But one shouldnt expect easy work for high-quality education, right? Exams are very fair. Hes gonna answer any dumb questions during office hour & tend to have a very helpful TA. Hes funny and you will learn so much just from listening 2 discussion in class. Would never regret taking his class.

You will learn A LOT, but you will die in the process. It's a love hate thing. For people who complain about the amount of work tho, I have just one thing to say: Don't think you can get good grades in econ (or business econ) without spending hours on studying.

Never gets through the material in each lesson- schedules extra classes. Hope you didn't have plans for Friday. Incredibly slow marker. Hope you didn't want more than a quiz back before the drop deadline.

He is certainly one of the most resourceful professors I have ever had. He keeps the class engaging and highly demanding. In fys he seemed slightly disorganized though.

you learn a lot from his class. Tradeoff: you get a very bad grade despite that fact. Problem sets are a pain in the ass but you learn A LOT from them. I like him.
