Good professor overall, the tests aren't too difficult. He has very engaging lectures. There are a couple of reading assignments but they are not very difficult.

Dr. English is literally the most wholesome person EVER. He is so sweet and teaches his class so well. The tests in this class are based dominantly on things discussed in lectures. There are a couple short papers that are really no big deal but thats about most of the workload.

There are tests about every two weeks but they are on a very small amount of material so they're easy. He is a nice guy and gives power points or notes on the board. Tries to make this class interesting for everyone. Any papers you write are only for completion. Very easy class.

Comment:
The Philosophy class is interesting, but it is very religious based. In my opinion Philosophy begins where dogmatic religion ends. Dr. English does not share this opinion. In one class we went through proofs of god, which were highly illogical. Tests are easy, and he is a pretty understanding guy. He is smart despite his religious silliness.

Not bad, he has humor which make his lectures bearable. However, since it's mandatory I had to take it. Over all he is really good, better than a lot of others. He just rarely ever replied back to my emails. His test are straight forward and as long as you pay attention in class you will be fine

I had Christian Ethics with Dr. English and it was super easy as long as you study the night before the tests and try on your final debate project (which you will have to do in front of the class). He was super fun and really made lectures enjoyable to sit through even though it was just an elective needed for graduation.

Dr. English is my favorite professor at Campbell, and I am not a religion major. His enthusiasm for the subject is inspiring. He comes into class every day like a little kid on Christmas morning. He is so excited to be at Campbell which makes him the fabulous professor that he is.

Very knowledgable, yet easy to understand. He teaches the class based on his opinions, which are pretty liberal. I enjoyed hearing about the Bible from a less orthodox perspective though. He'll make you challenge your own beliefs. There are easier professors, but if you want to learn anything, English is your man.

GREAT PROFESSOR! He really knows his materials. All you have to do is go to class, take notes and study them. His lectures go along great with the textbook. You do have to write two short essays and do a small project. Very easy class and great professor. I would recommend him!

Wonderful professor, esp if you plan on Seminary. I am in seminary now and have been disappointed to find out that I faced more challenges in it than I have in Seminary. That to say...he prepares you and he challenges you. Not so much in the rigors of the class (not too hard) but just in thoughts he presents you with.

Personally, I hated Dr. English! I dreaded going to his class every single day! If you are not a religion major, do NOT take Christian Beliefs!!!! (take World Religions) The tests are hard and the paper is stupid. Dr. English did not make the class interesting at all. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!!

I guess its an easy class if you're baptist and have gone to church your whole life...but if not, you gotta study your ass off. Boring (but pretty animated) lectures...expects you to know details on tests. If you're having trouble go to his office and talk to him (I slept through a exam and he let me retake it) Hard class, helpful guy tho

The class consists of 4 multiple choice tests and the easiest A paper of your life. I had harder tests in Sunday School. Some questions are worded very oddly, but it's still easy enough to wing them. He has a weird sense of humor but he's very easy on the eyes...

Dr. E's classes, while they helped aquaint me with a variety of influential texts in the worlds of philosophy and theology, were not necessarily useful for promoting my *understanding* of a variety of theological vantage points outside of the post-liberal. Now at a liberal div school, I wish I had been better aquainted with other realms of theology

Dr. English is an amazing teacher. He makes learning about religion bearable. He is very smart and willing to discuss any point of view. He is willing to assist students in any way possible. I recommend his courses. He is not an easy "A" and he grades sort of hard on papers... but wonderful class. PLUS - he is very easy on the eyes!!!!!
