He is a really sharp guy. He gives quizes every once in a while so you have to read. Reading and sometimes writing (poetry or speech) is the only homework he gives. He is really nice but very structured. Class only meets once a week supposed to be for 3 hours but he said thats too long and shortened it to 2. If you do your hw and study youll pass

He seems cool at first but honestly as the course continues he gets so annoying. Theres a paper that he Collabs with a different teacher thats just so extra. The trips are annoying. Tbh I just dont like DNY at all but he just drags it with the stuff we have to do for that class.

Dr. McKenzie is by far the funniest professor Ive ever had. He made me look forward to attending. It is a lot of work though. Lots of reading, and the 2 exams are a little tricky but he offers a lot of extra credit trips which are actually very fun to attend and theyre FREE!!

Prof. McKenzie definitely doesn't make the A and easy grade, however, he tells you everything you need to do to get it so there's no excuses. You can tell he really wants everyone to do well, and is rooting for everyone to get that A. In this class you HAVE TO put in the work, so if you want an easy A find a different professor!

Comment:

Dr. McKenzie is one of those teachers that you wish you would have almost every year. He is very kind, funny, and understanding. He understands what most freshmen are going through and is lenient to a certain degree provided that you give him a legitimate reason. Class is filled with videos, discussions, lectures, and COOKIES!!

He really makes it clear what you have to do to get a good grade in his class. If you do every assignment and hand in on time and participate a decent amount, you'll def get an A. He's really funny and engaging, i def recommend! The research project isn't bad esp b/c you can redo if you need.

Doc's class was great only thing that annoyed me was the project which was assigned by a joint professor other then that he is funny he makes you want to come to class on the first day of class he pointed almost everyone out with out the roster HE CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS

great class funny guy and he tells you what you have to do only thing that was hard was the research project worth 20 %(it was just time consuming but not a hard grade) of the grade other then that great class makes you enjoy learning about immigration

doc is an awesome teacher! he's kind, humorous, and his class is very structured. he gives you everything you need to know and though many students say dny is a useless class, doc brings it to life. you're required to go to two off campus events (broadways or class trips). plus towards the end of the semester he gives food!!!

DNY is going to be packed with alot of work, but this guy makes it as fun as possible, no HW, only quizzes/test and a class trip to Ellis Island! He has a great personality, and the best teacher that I have ever had! He gave our class a pizza party for final review, what teacher do u know does that?
