hardest art teacher ive ever dealt with. dont buy her art book, i will never sign up for her class ever again, i spent my whole paycheck just for supplies and expensive paper, if u miss class u will fail, i dont recommend

Best English teacher I have had at UAB. She keeps her students best interests in mind at all times from reading options to price of books. You do have to show up and read, but the reading in usually always decently short and interesting. I wish I would have had her for 223. She is a stickler for spelling though FYI

She is a great teacher. Very nice and is easy as long as you try you will pass this class. She is very understanding. Missed a lot of class due to sickness and she helped me out a lot. The info she gives you is interesting, clear, and easy. Is a must take!

Dr. Hoff is a very good professor, but she makes you work for your grade. Very interesting, and I learned alot. The daily quizzes are more like daily tests sometimes though, and are so nit picky that you could have read the material and still get a bad grade.

Teacher style is great. Easy to understand literature if you go to class. Daily quizzes. fair grading. This teacher likes to look at all sides of a literature piece. She make you take apart literature to understand it better. I really liked her class. Her class sparked my interest in reading more pieces of literature just for fun. Great tea

Great prof, I really hated lit prior to this class and now I dont hate it at all! She is very friendly and makes the material very easy to understand. There are quizzes almost daily so make sure you read! I wish I had had her for EH 223..

Wonderful professor. Dr. Hoff was very helpful. She didn't grade easy, but her class wasn't impossible to get an A. I had a really bad case of mono toward the end of the semester and she was very understanding about it. I wish she taught 102, because my professor in there is senile!

Was absolutely dreading a college english class when I first started going to college. My worries were fruitless when I arrived at Dr. Hoff's class the first day. Her class is fun, realatively easy, and she is fun as well. Don't listen to the negative ratings on this professor, she is amazing! I would reccomend Dr. Hoff's class to anyone!!

Brilliant professor, eager to help students advance themselves and their way of seeing things. Her courses are always interesting and insightful. She's not afraid to cross boundaries in searching for truth in literature, which is really kind of the point of it all, isn't it? I've taken three of her classes, and wish there were more to take.

Hoff is an ok teacher. She has terrible mood swings and does not grade fairly. She can make the class fun or a living nightmare all depending on how she feels that day. She was nice about 60% of the time. I believe that she is one of those professors who refuse to allow a student to recieve an A in her class. I worked extremely hard and I got a B

Awful, grading inconsistent, wasted time going over the wrong information, explained problem areas AFTER the grades had been given instead of when the papers were assigned, didn't explain papers clearly enough, only graded for format and NOT content or actual wording effort etc etc etc couldn't have been more miserable.
