Took two of Barrys classes and he is by far the best professor Ive ever had in college. He makes the class fun while still wanting us to be serious about learning the lessons and he definitely cares about his students.

I adore Barry. He always manages to make class fun, I took his film class for a fine arts credits and I thought I would dread it because i am not a movie person. Most of the movies were phenomenal and Im really glad I took that class. Great guy, he has a great mind and very very smart.

Intro to Film consists of just watching movies he selects. They are current or classics. If you stay and watch the movie, you'll get the test questions/answers for the exam they'll appear on. He usually will send out notes from the textbook, so not really needed but get it in case. Otherwise, interesting dude.

Barry is an interesting teacher. I had his Intercultural Communications class. Did I learn anything? Somewhat but enjoyed his class. He goes off topic all the time, complains about something or can get really inspirational. His class has 3 exams; final included in this count and 1 final paper. Tests are easy if you do the study guide.

Barry Liss is an interesting character. A large portion of class is either him having a discussion with the students or reading material he picked off a projection. He offers many different viewpoints on a range of topics and isn't afraid to approach any issue. He is very funny and gets along well with his students. He expects quality work.

Barry was a great professor. He helped me get through my fears of public speaking. He can get off track, but he is very knowledgeable and has a unique sense of humor. As long as your prepare for tests, speeches, and show up every day it is an easy A.

I took this class because I knew that you gave very few speeches, and the tests he gives out a study guide with all the possible questions. This is all true. He even brings coffee if you just mention you appreciate it. That being said, he laughs at the most inappropriate times, and talks about taboo things. I would take him again if needed though.

Easy class.All you pretty much do is watch a movie in class.You write your name on a sheet for participation.The test questions are emailed to you, so if you answer these questions, remember the answers, and attend some classes, you'll get an A. I missed watching about 4 or 5 movies and was able to get an A just by looking at the test questions.

Most pointless class EVER! If you want to actually learn don't take Barry, though it can be fun and exciting at times it is often boring and full of readings that are pointless. Exams are easy if you do the study guide. All this class is is memorizing the study guide and forgetting it after the test. Useless knowledge.

Class revolved around two 40 page word documents and 2 exams. The entire semester is spent "popcorn reading" the readings. Barry is a great guy - but if you aren't interested in the writings by and similar to Marx and McClellan, you're gonna have a bad time. Many students only showed up for the tests - in hindsight, I wish I did the same.

Barry is an awsome teacher! I've taken 3 of his classes and they are all kind of the same. Hes a really interesting guy if you are interested inthe topics we covered in class and are willing to do the work to study for his exams (they are tough! but acheiveable if you prepare!!) Plus hes hilarious!!!
