Great teacher! He keeps your attention very well, before you know it is it time to leave. Explains things very well and is interactive so the information is easially retained. You have to ignore all of his words to not understand. Excellent teacher and I would recommend him to all!

Super Easy A if you do the work. Took him this fall semester and got an A. only 2 speeches, a group project & midterm/final ofcourse. If you do the two speeches well, youll be fine. for the midterm & final he lets you use a "study sheet" which was the only time i needed the book. easy to get a B, put a little more effort,& def. get an A. i liked hi

This guy loves the sound of his voice. He would keep you in class all day if he could just so he could talk. Probably the most bring class ever. There is only a mid term, a short easy paper, and a final but you do have to study for the tests. He is a nice guy but there's gotta be a way to make a Theatre class more interesting.

I thought the theater appreciation class would be easier than it was. The paper & midterm weren't bad, but the final was hard. Not an easy appreciation course to take. Test reviews weren't very helpful. There is a lot of reading in the class so be prepared to read and study a lost as it is not a easy A. He does try to make the class fun though.

Dr. Russal is an excellent professor! I loathe public speaking but I received an A on all of my speeches, the whole class cheered everyone on. This was my most favorite class by far! He made everyone feel comfortable and he wanted us all to succeed. We laughed throughout class! I would HIGHLY recommend taking him, you won't regret it! Good Luck!

I took him for Speech Spring 09 and Theater Summer 09. He was a great professor, very thorough, enjoys telling stories. Only two tests; Mid-Term & Final must read textbook & take notes. Usually gives 100% towards quiz grade (which he does not give) if you attend all classes. Overall great professor and great class. I recommend!

Great professor. Corny at times but still fun. The speeches are fun if you dedicate to it. Exams are not bad if you study. Very fair and attendence is mandatory. I recommend him.

talks too much, likes to make you watch movies, and often steers off topic while teacher for at least an hour. great teacher if you like hearing people talk all day, but don't take class at night you will be sorry.

Made the class very fun! 3 speeches, one being a group speech, 2 4-6 minute individuals. Loved the class. Made it relevant to every day life and we even watched a movie that related to everything we'd been talking about. Very nice man and a joker. Wonderful professor.

He is such a nice guy! Very passionate and articulate. You must go to class if you want to do good. Gives you a midterm and a final, which you get to use cheat sheets for. I had no interest in theater, but I felt like I learned a lot in there. Highly recommended if you need an Appreciation class.

Easy. there is 1 group presentation to do,two 6mintue speeches, and a written project. All this to pass & along with attendance. Must read all chapters he ass. b/c his test are from them. I had to take this class, so in the beginning i was not interested. However Dr. Russal made it fun and active. Great teacher, nice, & VERY helpful. He kept us alive with some humor. Although we never got out early for class, hes a cool teacher to listen to. Easy A or B depending on if you take good notes or not!

I HAD NO INTEREST IN THEATER BUT, THIS MAN MADE IT FUN. WE WOULD DO DIFFERENT EXERCISES EVERYDAY. HE EVEN TOOK US TO THE SCHOOL THEATER TO SHOW US THE IN'S AND OUT'S OF PUTTING TOGETHER PLAYS. HE IS A VERY NICE AND UNDERSTANING TEACHER. TAKE HIM IF YOU GET A CHANCE YOU WANT REGRET IT.
