Professor Schaller is a great teacher, he can be a tough grader but participate a lot in class and write clear concise (grammatically correct papers) and you will do well. Take him while you can because he also teaches at Yale Law and isn't always at Trinity. I learned a lot from him and his stories about being a Judge are amazing!

Comment:

Lots of work particularly in the beginning of the semester. Fair grader; cares about argument AND grammar/writing. Consequently it's tough to get more than a B on papers, but not impossible. He also gives ample opportunity to raise your grade by rewriting papers/writing optional ones. Make sure to prepare for class - participation matters.

I enjoyed the class, but received a completely unwarranted grade which he never explained to me. The class is interesting,but do not be surprised after he tells you how great your paper was and gives you a C.
