Focuses on culture more than the language itself. Doesn't really "teach." She is nice, but I didn't learn anything from her; everything I learned was through myself. Would not recommend her unless you are okay with teaching yourself and pointless classes.

I love this professor. She is so nice and caring. One of my favorite in the SHN department. The concepts in 1050 are hard, but she will work with you. I studied the night before exams and did well. You just have to know what to study and make sure you know grammar points. Love this prof. Take her for any class. Her positive personality is great.

Forsyth is one of the best Spanish professors I've had at Appalachian. She constantly reminds us that the material is hard and that she doesn't expect us to be fluent, which feels reassuring. You have to teach yourself some things outside of class, but she does her best to cover all of the grammar concepts while still teaching about Spanish culture

She is a very nice lady. Even though our class was 4th semester, she taught in english most of the time. She doesn't spend very much time explaining the grammar, so you have to practice outside of class to get it. Her tests are clear and consistent. There is lots of online homework. There was no graded speaking or listening parts to the class.

Forsyth is really a nice lady, and will help you pretty willingly, even during tests. Normal class time is mostly opportunities to practice spoken Spanish. Her tests can be confusing and she often won't begin them on time. There is usually a good bit of homework but if you divide it up and do a little each day you should be fine.

Belinda is nice. She is a professor who does not prepare lectures, passes out random worksheets, gives an unreasonable amount of online homework (6-8 hours worth per unit) and does not go over the lesson. She instead wants the students to speak Spanish fluently, and leaves us having to teach ourselves for the ridiculous exams. Never take. Regret.

I had her for 1050 and I would not reccomend it. i had to career drop because it was insanely hard. her style of teaching is mostly lecturing, and thats not something that helps with a language. there was never any homework so when studying I would get info from the textbook at my discretion without knowledge of what would be on the exam. hard time

I had Profesora Forysth for an entire year (SNH 1030&1060) every. single. day. and I loved it!! I can honestly say that I wouldn't have fallen in love with Spanish w/o her. She cares so much, will help in literally ANY way she can, and if you don't really like a way the class is going, just tell her & she will change it to better suit the class.

Mrs. Forsyth is an amazing professor. She is extremely sweet and sympathetic. She will help you in any way she can. That being said, you have to participate and show up to her class, but she is such a nice lady and makes the class interesting you will want to go. She makes learning a new language manageable and nearly stress free.

she makes us do random assignments in class that have nothing to do with the course and then grades very strictly on the test. going to class is a waste of time because i learned from the book but attendance is required and it will affect your grade if you dont show up

Sra. Forsyth is really kind and wants her students to do well but she is really all over the place and other than teaching chapter by chapter, her teaching style is really disorganized. It's a more intense spanish course, but she only gives you about a week or so to learn material before a test. She does everything she can to help with grades.

She is such a sweet teacher! This class (SNH 1060) is everyday so particpation is mandatory and we learn a new topic everyday. Honestly, if you dont study every night you will fall behind quickly. Its a fast paced class so be prepared to learn a lot. Teats are okay and she drops the two lowest scores.

Took Belinda for 1040 and we could only miss three days, even though the class was Mon-Fri. Her class moves super fast and there is a lot of homework. She is a sweet lady, though, but this class is not easy.

Profesora Forsyth is a great teacher. She is kind, passionate about this subject and 100% willing to help you if you're struggling. Just make sure to keep up with the homework because if you leave all of the online exercises until the last minute, you'll have a hard time with the tests. Pay attention in class and do a little practice every day!

She is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is so caring, sweet, energetic and makes you excited about learning Spanish. I was timid and worried at first because learning a new language is intimidating and she is so supportive and encouraging. My view of learning another language did a 180 by the end of the semester. I love it now

Belinda is so sweet! I have taken four years of spanish prior to coming to college so I did have background knowledge. She is a little hard to learn from because English is not her first language. I would definitely take her again but I would like it a whole lot better if there wasn't as many worksheets!

An incredible spanish teacher. Not only is is she very knowledgable (tri-lingual, too!), but she is the kindest person I've ever met. If you go to her office hours ever, she'll know you personally, and you will do so well in her class. She knows her stuff and isn't one of those incompetent billingual E-S-L teachers.
