He is my favorite teacher so far throughout my college experience. He is extremely smart and knows how to teach. You ask him a question, he gives a detailed answer until you understand. He is very passionate about science and would definitely take him again.

The lecture is very dry. There's no passion or emotion in his voice . It's very hard to stay focused because the lectures are so boring. The exams have nothing to do with the material he teaches or uploads online. I did not do well in his class but did well in every other class I had. People either love him or dislike him.

Brian White is a great professor who is personable and smart. The flipped classroom set up made lectures go by quickly because you are engaged in the clicker questions + discussion. As long as you show up to class, pay attention, and do your homework you should easily get a good grade. I found myself not having to put much extra time in to get an A

One of the best professors here at UMass Boston. Brian's whole system (SPOC) in the way he taught, tested us and kept up with the class was genius. Brian is also very accessible and loves to talk to his students he's caring. He made BIO111 interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommended, the best choice

The way this class was structured was really cool- you watch the lectures online before class and then in class you answer questions about it with a clicker and go more in depth about what you already learned. Also the quizzes are really easy if you study and everything you need for the class you buy in a binder at the beginning of a semester

Brian White is one of the best professors at UMB. He designed his class in a way that makes it so simple to follow and understand as long as you are doing the online homework and showing up to class. I would take this class again if I could.

This guy right here is the best! I love the way the class is structured and he actively searches for ways to improve it. He will often poll the class to see how we would like to see the class run. He doesn't lecture, instead there are online hw videos. He then explains everything that was mentioned in the hw clearly and answers questions. No final

As long as you show up to class and do clicker questions, do SPOC homework, do well on tests, and succeed in lab you will pass. None of the material is hard as long as you pay attention to the SPOC lectures. He is willing to help students struggling but overall the class is passable.

Greatest professor ever! Professor White is a one of the best professor I have in UMass Boston, he is caring and inspirational. He posts all lecture notes and videos online, it's very helpful for all . Short quizzes every week but he allows cheat sheet, exams are easy once you pay attention in class. I learned a lot from him, highly recommended!

Comment:

Brian is one of the best teachers at Mass Boston. He does a different way of teaching compared to most other professors and it works. His style of teaching is very guided. He doesn't want you to read from the book and learn by yourself, he wants to actually teach you himself, whether its from lecture or from video. Take any bio class with him!
